Elevators must have an option to return to the level

Hello. I have bad internet connection, sometimes I experience lag spikes - the game freezes for few seconds. If this happens near the elevator, I always find myself standing on the elevator after the lag spike. Countless times I've stepped occasionly on the elevator, most of them are lag spikes, the other are when I touched the elevator while moving around. Besides UP and DOWN there should be an option to return to the level or prompt window asking every time "Are you sure..." question. Just make it an option disabled by default.
All energy related stuff (doors, mecha knights) have a confirmation, the elevators must have it too because wasting 10 energy isn't a good thing.

I support this suggestion.

I remember getting chased by those Mecha Knights or whatever, and I use a Piercing weapon set at all times. I got rushed by a whole bunch of them, and accidentally backed up into the exit area. I tried shielding my way past the bots, and just BARELY stepped on the EDGE of the elevator and was forced to either go back to Haven or continue on down. This situation doesn't happen often, but it's still a pain. This solution wouldn't be all that difficult to do, right?

Really?

How does this problem result in wasting 10 energy? It you were intentionally going NEAR the elevator, then presumably it costs you AT MOST whatever random drops you would have gotten from the 5 or so bushes nearby, that's like 2.5 crowns and maybe a heart.

And maybe the opportunity to re-equip at a Clockwork Terminal, but that can be solved by re-equipping BEFORE you walk right up next to the elevator.

Actually, that pretty much completely breaks the current end-of-level sequence, which spins the prize wheel and distributes heat after you step on the elevator but before displaying the arrows to go up or down. Arguably it would be better to put that during the loading screen afterwards, but currently it happens before, so I could imagine that this change might be rather involved.

Additionally, if you were with a party, then backing out of the elevator would necessarily split you from anyone who clicked a different arrow.

Elevators are already pretty well segregrated from the combat areas (usually multiple screen-widths away), I have a hard time imagining pulling enemies other than Phantoms into them without deliberately trying. I suppose it's possible.

Antistone: "you were

Antistone: "you were intentionally going NEAR the elevator"

For example at arenas each elevator have 2 candlesticks from both sides which contains coins.

Which you can promptly avoid

Which you can promptly avoid by "walking around the platform" instead of over it.

Why do you bother?

By my estimates, the time you spend harvesting those candlesticks is worth more than the crowns you get from them.

Say an average level of the clockworks takes you 15 minutes and nets you 1000 crowns, minus 600 crowns you spend buying 10 crystal energy for the elevator fee. That still means you're making 400 crowns profit, which is an average of 1 crown every 2.25 seconds.

Sidetracking to destroy the torches by the elevator on an arena slows you by about 10 seconds, and each torch provides an average of about half a crown. So that's an average of roughly 1 crown every 5 seconds, less than half the profit you make from actually playing levels (and it's not as interesting).

There are many situations

There are many situations where a player with bad internet can accidentaly step on the elevator: arenas (candles); after a boss fight (green/red crates); levels where elevator exit is near the starting point, etc. For example, when I move up and get a lag spike, I find myself 2 screens above the place where the lag happens - if there is an elevator up there, my knight steps right on it. And about arenas - it's not about coins, I like the feeling that I fully complete the level by destroying all brushes/candles etc.
This problem can be fixed by either:
1) Dialog message that will appear when player getting close to elevator asking "Are you sure you want to go further?"
2) Activating elevator by clicking on it instead of stepping on it.
This should be an option disabled by default. And it will help greatly to players with bad internet connection.
