i dont understand why it takes 3 hits. how bout just make it one?
reduce the hits on minerals
Instead of maximum combo, maybe final combo hit could be an automatic break. Option 2 is make two-hit weapons do double damage against minerals.
Frankly I think this problem also applies to the strong blocks in, say, the graveyard? Yeah, hard to escape a phantom when your HUGHE FREAKING SWORD takes as many hits as that tiny little toothpick Striker, y'know? I think if they're so big and powerful, they should effect the terrain in much the same way. Same with faster, weaker ones. It's only logic really.
Minor correction: the tiny toothpick striker takes FEWER hits to break minerals than the most powerful weapons around, last I checked.
(And you haven't known sheer abject misery until you've tried to break minerals with bombs. It takes forever!)
Put another way: the current mechanic is indeed silly and irritating. So although this change has been suggested before, for once I'm all in favor of keeping it on the devs' radar. Though ideally, ALL weapons would break minerals in fewer hits on average, whatever that final number turned out to be.
You know, it's funny, but initially the reason I picked the Autogun out of all guns was because with one click I could mine a mineral spire.
I say two hits. It's just awkward when you have a two hit weapon and it takes you much too long to get around them. I understand they're meant to be big and all but it's a tad silly. Easy to fix, yeah?
A proper suggestion would be for your weapons maximum combo amount to break it, but that's too difficult to calculate if two people are hitting it.
