My forehead sweat as the sound of running footsteps grew closer and closer. It was been some time since ive been to candlestick keep, the shadows and darkness now seemed to be bigger and scarier than it was. I loaded my gun, not remembering which one I equipped. I could care less. The footsteps stopped, leaving dead silence in the way of what was going to happen next.
"Leave.. me.. ALONE!" I yelled at the top of my lungs, rounding the corner and shooting the figure with whatever firearm i carried. A glint of light from each blast gave a glimpse of what was attacking.
Eyes like hollow pumpkins.
Flesh like old cardboard.
Arms like snakes.
Heads like medusa.
And a bloodcurdling scream filled the nighttime air as what felt like a thick arm striked my side dead on, and sent me flying all the way across the hall. My gun was dropped somewhere along the way. I picked myself up, and ran in the opposite direction of a scream from the monster. I didnt need to hear footsteps to know that THING was right behind me, stagnant air blew across my face. I gripped the handle of my Grintovec, and spun it around myself, all that i remember next was that it gripped my sword like Velcro and Scotch tape, I desperately pulled my weapon from whatever gripped it, a snap and the sound of metal clinking on the floor were the signs that I needed to keep on running. At last, the bright warming blue tone of the hologram above the elevator came into view through the mist. I jumped feet first onto the platform andpunched the up button on the control panel. I smiled as the elevator loudly shrieked and began to ascend upwards. I uickly looked downwards, and saw that THING starting to gnaw the rail thats bring it up, I prayed that it didnt snap, only to find air where the floor was.
"Crap, NO!" Yelling at the last glimpse of light in the square exit in the ceiling, and turned to face downwards to see the rest of the platform fall into the shaft, randomly crashing and breaking when it came into contact with the sides. Falling down, I felt what was a strong, big hand grip me by the chest. I yelped in pain as it closed, crunching around half of the bones in my rib. Then, the hand turned to face the wielder. I only screamed before the final moment of blackness registered in my head.
I woke up from my covers, finding a couple bottles of ale sitting on my bedside table. I shook my head, turning two blurry hallucinations into one clear picture. What registered as my friend appeared in the doorway.
"Glad you woke up, I need you to go into Candlestick Keep and-" I interuppted him, my Grintovec having fresh traces of blood on the edge already.
"Ow, its not even 9o'clock and you're already beating me up, yeesh,"
I smiled and headed out the doorway, into the sunlight of the starting day.
And that my friends, is why you shouldn't drink before you go to bed.
You need to work on your grammar.
