Potential FSC armor/sheild set?

So my current FSC setup is kinda awful: A complete Divine set makes everything hit like a freight train, due to the lack of anything resembling normal defense. I've been browsing the wiki, and think I've hit upon a new setup, which I'd like to submit for peer review. (BTW, for FSC my weapon setup is Divine Avenger + Barbarous Thorn Blade + Argent Peacemaker + Gigawatt Pulsar)

Deadshot Chapeau: for normal/shadow protection, and curse resistance if FSC becomes UFSC anytime soon. The damage bonus versus Undead is a plus as well - when I can, I tend to spam AP / Pulsar shots instead of engaging zombies at melee. Also, it's the only Normal/Shadow defense equp that's not massively flammable.

Vog Cub Coat: ASI is always nice (ASI High on my DA already, and the BTB is super fast to begin with), and the elemental resist is good for everything that's not a zombie or a jelly. Also keeps you fireproofed.

Owilte Shield: Massive fire resist is good in a fire stratum, right? Also, it's good at taking hits from pretty much anything. I'd probably swap this out for a Blackened Crest / Crest of Almire at some point.

Anyway, do y'all think that this is a stable and sensible setup?

Seems good to me, the only

Seems good to me, the only little drawback is the lack of fire resist on Deadshot. Maybe you could try to get some fire UV on one or both armor pieces. Or if you find that you really need more fire resist, you can still swap back to Divine Veil anyway. Vog Cub Coat + Divine Veil is a popular setup.

I have had the same idea but

I have had the same idea but have not tried it out yet. I am currently working on a full Vog, but right now I'm at Vog Cap & Ash Coat + Wise Owlite Shield. The other day I picked up a Deadshot Mantle recipe with the idea of trading it out with my Sinister Skelly Suit for Undead/fiend work & have been considering it for FSC.

At my current skill/experience level I think I might be better off with a full Vog though. My first FSC run was in Vog/Ash and it went great, but I was with a very solid party. Since then I have not had much luck either solo or PUG (solo went better...).

The main damage types in FSC are Normal/Fire/Shadow/Elemental. Honestly though of these I think Normal and Fire are my biggest concerns. Fire mostly from derp or lag miss-steps and normal from off-screen Slag Guard hits. With that in-mind Volcanic Plate Armor could be a great choice for FSC. As a sword user I'm just not excited about having to overcome the ASI nerf that comes with Plate armor though.

Hmm, Ive already got a Divine

Hmm, Ive already got a Divine Veil with "Fire Resist: Maximum!" on it, so I guess that and a Vog Cub Coat (What UVs should I shoot for on a Vog?) should make me mostly fireproofed, although that does cost me a bunch of Normal resistance (which basically everything hits for :P).

If you want to have an easy

If you want to have an easy time its not so much about armor, its more of shield and weapons and team :P. Your set works as is. With that divine fire is no longer a main problem, and you can use vog with any uv you like, or even go skolver or something else. Plain Grey owlite is all you need, if you get something better its just for improvement. For weapons, shivermist, polaris, blitz, divine avenger/fov/leviathan/civ work. If you play on teams then you dont need all of them at the same time, just bring the ones that fit your role. Given your current weapons you are best taking out the minions, doing dps versus the mask, and helping take out trojans (but the blitz users should have that role, you are there as backup). If you dont like that role you have to get blitz (shooter) or shivermist (freezer), if you want to excel at your current best role get a spin charge weapon (fov, civ, levi), youll kill those minions very quickly.

I usually tend towards

I usually tend towards keeping the pressure off of my teammates (who are usually better at fighting the 'duke himself) by mutilating Slags and Slag Guards. My BTB has a "Bonus Damage vs. Fiend: High" on it, which when combined with the bonus from the Divine Veil makes Trojan killing my unofficial job.

I've been thinking about getting a Shivermist for a while - Currently I'm still heating up most of my 5* gear, but once I do, I'll be sure to alchemize up to one. They seem to be really good in Arenas as well as PvP, as added bonuses. Should I swap out mt Argent Peacemaker (UV: "Bonus Damage vs. Construct: High") or my Gigawatt Pulsar (UV: "ASI: High")? Personally, I"m thinking about dropping the AP in the future for a Shivermist Buster, as the knockback from the Polaris line as well as ~25 points of Shock damage are both extraordinarily useful.

I guess instead of a Blackened Crest I'll grab a FoV, it seems like a fun (and useful!) weapon to have.

I'd keep using only the veil

After I had all my 5* gear, i started crafting 5* gear for specif bosses/strata. I figured the deadshot chapeau would be perfect for vana as I had my vog coat which covered elemental with the asi for swords and thought the deadshot would be perfect with the normal/shadow and the med against undead in vana. Dont' get me wrong, it does ok, but i found i like my veil better.

I figured that what really gets you in vana runs is not the zombies or the trojans, it's the fire. Shadow damage didn't do much while the lack of a second elemental armor was killing me. Not to mention i even got max pierce on it when it went from 4* to 5*. So after going back ot my veil, the chapeau doesnt get much love.

As for the shield, you still can't go wrong with owlite. You can shield bump zombies but you sure can't shield bump fire O.o

I've ran with players who have Crest of almire and they still take grey owlite on vana.

So to sum it up, this is my vana load out now:

Divine veil, vog coat, grey owlite, levi, pulsar, shiver, DA, sword asi trinket, sword charge trinket. I'm currently crafting my blitz needle which will replace my shiver when i run i groups who already have shiver as I'd like to be full dps.

I also had the Deadshot idea

Yeah, I echo Alfaomega's comments on the Deadshot line. I thought a Deadshot/Vog Cub combination would be useful, to cover some shadow damage along with the normal and elemental. But the hard part of FSC (for me) is not the shadowy part, but rather the depth 28 part, and there you just want normal, elemental, and fire, it seems. If my Deadshot had a fire UV I might try it again.
