same here. im a macbook pro user. i click on the application, and it just doesnt open... kinda disappointing :/
i sure would love to log in and play. sucks too, i had some items i was bidding on in the AH too. feel kinda robbed if they sell while i cannot bid on them :(
Been looking at this on the technical forums. It appears there is a java .class file with a bad version number according to the projectx.log. (For those mac users who want to look at it themselves, right click on Spiral Knights and select "View Package Contents" then navigate to the Content:Resources:Java folder and double click on projectx.log).
If the Windows version of SK had a bad version number of a class it would behave the same way.

This works for some mac user's on Steam:
Go into your Applications folder -> Utilities folder and double click on Java Preferences. If you see Java 1.6 listed, drag it to the top. Close the window.
One of two things will happen
1) Spiral Knights will launch (fun and roses)
2) Spiral Knights will behave exactly the same as before - half a second of the icon then closing (this is what my mac does).

Sparkplug beat me to it. But yes, many Mac users do have this problem, but can be fixed exactly how Spark said it, or atleast that's how I fixed it for my bud.

It's been more than 5 hours since the latest amazing patch..but still can't log in.
If they are fixing this, I think it might be appropriate for them to make an announcement about this issue...

Me: I'm playing on a MacBook pro and after the latest patch when i click my desktop shortcut or try to launch thru the play button on the website the game will not load. It doesn't load and lock up or anything like that. The patch has been downloaded already. If i open thru desktop shortcut nothing happens. If i open thru this website it says launch 100% complete but nothing happens. Is this a known issue?
Do we know when it will be fixed?
I'm in the midst of a LOT of in game business transactions and cannot afford to not be able to log in and manage them. It is gonna cost me a ton of ce/crowns if this continues.
OOO response: Try re-installing Spiral Knights on your MacBook and let us know if it works again (or not)!

No, no, and no. It is not OUR job to test fixes for THIER broken patch. This is unacceptable. The proper response is for them to test reinstalling it on a MacBook and then them telling US if it fixes the issue with the patch THAT NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN RELEASED AS IS. Unbelievable.
I'm exactly in a same situation.
fixing this broken patch is their job and not customer's.
Since I spend some real money for this game, I think i should have a right to complain and know what they are doing now in order to fix the patch.
My concern is, do we, Mac users who haven't been able to log in since the last patch, get something for this inconvenience? Since I used trinket upgrade that lasts 30 days, I just lost 1 day of enjoying the trinket. 150 CE NPC price means 5 CE a day, so if they leave the situation as it is now for a week, I should get 35CE. Also we lost the opportunity to spend the 100 energy, which users get in 22 hrs, and get refilled. (if the energy stays at 100, we can't get any...) So, in a day the loss of mac users would be 100 energy and other CE related items that expire in specific amount of time.
Anyways, please..just fix the broken patch.
You get no compensation, just as the Steam users who were locked out. Deal with it.
Have you attempted the same fixes others have used (successfully) in the tech forum? From what I read there it seems to be a problem with your Java not liking Spiral Knights, which sounds like YOUR problem, not OOO's.

Well I'm not gonna write another long comment, but 1: making something like this patch not only once but....again isn't acceptable thing in bushiness (depends on individuals but at least to me) hahaha my java...well, you should go to some kind of school. go to elementary school at least.
