Would it be too much to ask to get an SK mail early in the day before a planned reboot, announcing the time? I mean, I know how programming goes, it's not always easy to know when a new version will be ready to roll out, but 45 minutes is kind of short, especially when you're half way to a boss or something.

I was trying my darnedest to finish up the stratum before the reboot today, since the odd stratums don't pay out crap compared to the even ones and I had some gear I needed to heat up, and I got booted just inches from the elevator down to emberlight. All those heat sparks, that giant chunk of crimsonite, all gone in a puff of ones and zeros.

Had I known earlier in the day that a reboot was imminent, I would have hopped on earlier, or waited until later before starting.

Of course, it's also a bit obnoxious to be scheduling these reboots during prime gaming hours in the first place. It's really not that hard to find better times to reboot (and I'm sure that OOO has better stats on when people are actually playing, and not just online on steam).

Ah, this has come up before

Ah, this has come up before for steam, and the reason might be similar for restarting at annoying times for players. It's simply that the reboot happens at those times because *that's when people are around to reboot the server or work on it.* Noooobody's gonna want to take the night shift to reboot the game. That's understandable, right?

As for a better warning to WHEN they're going to reboot, that would be nice. VERY VERY NICE. Please?

45 Minutes is far from enough warning. People know that 100 mist is worth about 2 hours of playtime, so why don't we get a 2 hour warning? That doesn't make too much sense.

Scheduled maintenance reboots should be put somewhere on the site, since they're, you know, scheduled. They know when they're gonna happen, so why not let the players know as well?

I can also understand emergency reboots. Those are fine. But please, it would be nice to get better warning about other reboots.

Remember when it reboots and work your schedule around it

For the last two months I've been playing Spiral Knights everyday. On weekdays I play at night; on weekends I play two sessions, one in late morning/early afternoon and one at night.

I don't recall ever seeing an emergency reboot... the reboot is always at 12:00pm GMT+0, which is 8pm in my local time.
