How much CE have you used that you regret?

We've all done this, I'm sure. Whether you wasted precious CE on revives in the Clockworks, got caught with high unbinding costs, made the wrong item, or paid too much for something because you didn't know better, we've all used CE for less-than-optimal reasons. What have you lost?

1. I have a craft Alt. He stayed in Proto Gear for a long time. Lockdown came out, and I got it in my head that it would be a good idea to give him decent T2 gear so I could play Lockdown without being stuck in Tier3. I spent 1400CE to unbind and buy the seller’s Twisted Snarble Barb and Twisted Targe. I also spent more CE on a Dusker set. I played a grand total of 12 LD matches before going back to using him as a craft alt again.

2. I was lucky enough to get a PAX Bombhead code, but I wasn’t sure if I should use it, or sell it at the time. They were still worth about 10-12kCE then, but I already had 5* gear, so I decided it would be best if people could actually see that I had a super-rare item, instead of a number in my bottom right corner that only I could see. I equipped it, thinking I would look unique with my rare item. Now everyone loves accessories. I like my Chaos Set with my Aura better (worn as a costume only), and the Pax Bombhead collects dust.

3. I bought $10 of CE (twice) during the second Rose Regalia promo. I hadn’t supported the game yet, and I wanted a set for myself. I ended up with two green tabards. I traded one of them (and some more CE) for a Green Chapeau. Then I traded my green set (and even more CE) for a Blue set. Again, I contemplated hanging onto them, knowing they would appreciate in value. I got impatient, after a week, but before the sale was over, and I equipped them. I still like my Chaos set better. My Blue Regalia set collects dust next to my Pax bombhead.

4. I've had my main equipped gear, my Mad Bomber set for a long time. It had a UV of Shock Low on it. I got a UV of Fire MAX on a Fused Demo Suit, so I equipped that one instead, and built it up to Mad Bomber. So I had an extra Mad Bomber Suit with Shock Low I couldn’t use, and nowhere near 4000CE to unbind it. I tried for two weeks to sell it. Not one bite. Frustrated, it went to the Vendor for 30,000CR.

hm reading this..

1. that might have been a bad decision using all of that CE to unbind when getting it normally would be easier.

2. I would've sold the bombhead XD as far as acessories go, all i want is the glasses with aura.

3. i cant really blame you, it is tempting. all i wanted was blue chapeau (the hat i believe) but i sold the tabard for 1500 CE (derp)

4. same happened to my volcanic salamander suit. in the end... i chose the divine mantle over it. im now currently going for deadshot mantle because im tired of getting owned by Normal weps in lockdown...

As far as my fails go, im not sure i really have one that stands out. lets just hope it stays..... wait i never used my volcanic salamander suit much after i crafted it.... FUUUUUUU

nice memory..I can't really

nice memory..I can't really remember all my details like that but I'll try to post some general things.

1) I got in a bad vana run because my connection was crap and other people were having lag issues, but a friend still believed in us and actually gave us like 3000 CE to continue...did not win. I felt bad I couldn't perform well that day and worse I wasted his CE, sure he was ok with it but, I wasn't, but at the same time I couldn't take 3000 CE and go like "oh hey we can't win, let's go" *keeps CE*

2) Weapons that everyone has that I know I don't like.
Avenger/Divine avenger=1200 CE. I just don't like slow swords, always knew that. And I'm not investing in ASI UVs actively nor do I wear full vog so this weapon was an annoyance, I figured I should still make one just in case I needed it for helping with "certain" parts of FSC, but honestly everyone else has one and even those that don't, I never learned/cared to learn most of the glitches. And I rarely use it in PVP.

AP=800 CE. Not really that great over Silversix but it was before Polaris was made so what could I say...

Blackhawk=400 CE. Made it for no reason. Seriously. I've like pulled it out maybe 10 times in the 4+ months I've had it.

Leviathan is pushing it so it gets a mention but I think its still useful.

3) Replacement equipment
Shivermist Buster (10+50+100+200+300 CE). I later went back and got a Haze Bomb Low to upgrade so I could make a new shivermist buster with Max CTR (I wear bomber armor, full volc at the time). While that one did serve its purpose, its always kind of silly to remake an item from the beginning.

Ash tail cap before I remembered that my plan was to pair it with Volc demo helm with MED CTR not the suit, so I had to go back and work up a bomber helm and wolver coat, the latter item didn't get completed til about the release of lockdown because I gave up on that.

While we're on the subject of spending

When I was new I did reviving up to 40CE in Tier 2
Trading out a chapeau for a tabard - but I got smart afterwards!

Like Negimasonic: Building the following pieces of garbage!
a. Solid Cobalt Helm, Wolver Set on my main - vendored later
b. Divine Avenger
c. Ascended Calibur - stopped using it after type-swords got made
d. Fiery Pepperbox - I was thinking it would be great for constructs and slimes, but realized it dished out less damage per hit than Strike Needle (on gremlins and undead)
e. Industrial Catalyzer - covered costs by selling though
f. Firo Driver - replaced by Prisma Driver
g. Polaris???!!! on my gunslinger knight - instead of this I should've made a Prisma Driver, the Polaris is better on my alt
h. Callahan??!
ESTIMATE WASTE: 4600ce + 185kcr + 20 jelly tokens + 30 bark tokens + mats

Also, everything I made on my main account is kind of not worth it. Not because Guns suck though. I wouldn't have started on Steam if I knew the problems with a Steam-bound account. I hate myself for continuing with that account even if I knew! :D

If I could (and the unbind costs didn't suck), I'd move everything my main had to the alt, keeping the main for Steam Trading and crafting.

(Knock on wood)

I've made very few mistakes while playing SK (knock on wood).
I did spend 80 CE on a revive which isn't a lot but i'm an f2p player so every bit counts.

The CE I spent getting 40

The CE I spent getting 40 Almirian Seals and wasting them on a Fang of Vog. God I hate that sword. It is on the border line of fast enough to be of use and slow enough to annoy me. At least the Divine Avenger has power for it's swings while the FoV barely has any at all.

Well, there is all that CE I spent on 160+ CE revives.
And the energy spent on depths I didn't finish.
And the energy spent on trying to get two Antiguas.
And the energy spent on unbinding 3 five-star items.
This must come out to about... 20K?

Geez, I'm sure I've wasted at

Geez, I'm sure I've wasted at least 20k CE on items i don't use, UVs that aren't worth it, reviving, etc. Probably closer to 30k CE. Most of that was back during the steam rush, where you couldn't turn around in haven without picking up another 1k CE, so I've never hurt for CE since then.

Acheron. Toxic Needle.

Acheron. Toxic Needle. Blackhawk. Some silly knight vision goggles that I put on a cobalt helmet and then vendored because I regretted having them and didn't want to see them lying around in my inventory.

Biggest regret? Selling a bunch of CE to roll UVs and getting jack when I have plenty of gear I still want.

"The CE I spent getting 40 Almirian Seals and wasting them on a Fang of Vog. God I hate that sword. It is on the border line of fast enough to be of use and slow enough to annoy me."

You could always vendor it for 30k CR. Honestly, I've started farming Duke/FSC again after learning how much you can vendor them for. That is probably another regret, not doing duke 10+ times because I thought the tokens were worthless...

Regret is really the name of this game :P

spent a lot of ce reviving

spent a lot of ce reviving when i first fought jelly king and vana. not on the level of thousands, but enough to hurt as someone who never buys any ce.

spent about 2400 ce making gun ASI med trinkets thinking it'd be easier to use my ctr high blitz. yeah sold the blitz and really tempted to vendor those trinkets.

by the way, isn't it cheaper to do ancient sets for 30 tokens? or do they sell differently?

Well...

The Fang of Vog is already bought, so even though the ancient set vendoring is more efficient...

Could try to sell it to other players; might get some extra CE after unbinding cost...

First couple of times doing

First couple of times doing JK with my friends... Prepared? Nope. Getting desperate to win? Yup. Dropped something over 200 CE on a party revive.

I know FAR better now. That happens when you're new, though.

Speaking of CE wastes, there was a new player the other day that spent 800 CE on a revive. In the Party Button Room before the elevator in Red Carpet Run Around. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

As far as crafting though, I don't think there's really anything I regret there. So far. No, not even that Silvermail.

Oh god yes...

Although I didn't really waste CE, i wasted crowns (which enough crowns basically = CE) buying the WRONG recipes because I didn't look when i was buying.

I also started working on a Deadly Virulisk and Volcanic Salamander set because I had one part of each, I had the Virulisk set started, but I accidentally crafted a second Salamander Mask because I didn't look.

Also decided to test my luck with a Silver Key...I got a Regal Binocular Visor, which I'm not sure if that was a waste or not, I don't think it will sell for what I want, at least instantly...

Well, there's a few items I

Well, there's a few items I made that I rarely use, but I wouldn't say I regret them. They were fun while they lasted. The only wasted ones I did was filling up Krogmo and my team lost. I suppose I'll want to switch my accessories eventually (I thought regal was yellow, not green), so that's a potential waste too with the player-unfriendly removal system or if I switch my eq.

Though I never got around to making the Valkyrie Mail recipe I learned... that could've been 500 CE with the crowns.

I had two vile strikers

I had two vile strikers because one was a good UV and when it came to making my DVS I accidentally used the wrong VS. :[ Had to spend another 800CE to craft the right one but I've never made the same mistake since. :P

Wasn't me, but it's probably

Wasn't me, but it's probably the single biggest waste of CE I've ever seen.

I did a pub run of FSC. One of the pubs had been reviving fairly consistently while others were still alive. By the time we got to Vanaduke he was at 1600 CE revive cost. Everything is going fine, we get him to Phase 5 easy enough and even trap him so everything is pretty much wrapped up nicely. I'm blasting away at Vanaduke trapped in the corner and I see the pub with the 1600 CE revive cost walk into some lava... And CE revive.
