to report a problem

go to support [next to my account]

it may be counter productive at this point if they are working on the issue.... i have never posted here before so i dont know if admins comment here. But they should know we are all locked out, and may give them a little more motivation. It would be nice to know they are aware of the issue and trying to fix it...

response from tech support

they are aware that some mac users are having trouble logging in, and are working on the issue. They recommended i try to DL Java 1.6. Also apologize for the inconvenience.

no time frame included in the response.

tried to DL the new java version....and it is not compatible with my OS 10.4

I dont want to upgrade software with out upgrading hardware. it's just my prerogative. My machine is 5yrs old and still quick like a bunnie and i like it that way. You'd think with how long these machines last, and how well they perform over time that it would also be made more compatible with newer utilities.

I guess i cant have EVERYTHING =p

Your the type the of user

Your the type the of user Apple doesn't like though. They have a new product life cycle of around 6 months, each with an incremental software upgrade that slowly obsoletes previous versions. They treat backward compatibility like an enemy, and even with they try to ham fist a new technology (expensive) on the users, if it doesn't go anywhere they'll simply limbo the product line.

So stop acting like some kind of conformist. You need to be different and upgrade like the rest of us. :P
