If people are finding it helpful, then it's still a good guide. Btw, doing the missions also gives you a lot of help when starting out the game.
Chocobo's New Player guide: How to become self-sustaining in less than a week.
Maybe I should follow this one.. I'm having problems with my weapons..
the only problem with this guide is it doesnt covers missions, thats why you shouldnt use it anymore.
its way easier now as you get lots of equips and recipes for free, and can spend like 30 energy on a 3 floor mission which gives at least 2.5k crowns, so you can play 24/7 if you use this to buy CE and keep playing to get more materials.
there are some fairly easy missions like 5-2-3 Rise or Fall which gives about 3k cr each trip, so you can get 9k cr with 90 energy. then you use 7k or so to buy 100 CE and go again and again... getting a 2k profit plus materials and heat each time.
some poeple say doing jelly king is better, but you need 5 trips just to get enough tokens to trade for something useful, and i think its way harder at the boss is mean to new players.
when you get a good amount of CE consider going to the snarbolax mission a few times to get 10 tokens and grab a sword or a shield (i recomend doing it about 7 times, which costs 210 energy, so you get both). its one of the best equips of their type (specially the shield that gives sword dmg bonus).
OR go only 3~4 times to get the shield and consider crafting a flourish (about same sword as snarble barb, but a different charge attack and easier to make as the recipe can be found in the Hall of Heroes).
After missions got out, you can get your full 2* (counting a gun) after doing the 2rd (I think) set of missions and reach the 3rd to get the 2* stuff set of missions. They give you OK cr at the first 2 set of missions. At the 3rd set of missions you will see a very big improvement on the cr flow. Go do the mission that you save the apprentice. You get the colbat armour then do the other mission (Make sure to join a party because the first few missions is going to be hard for you especially if you just started) that gives you a defender. Then do the mission I think called Fallen Knights? It gives you a calibur and blaster (If you have a friend who has already done the mission and has 2* or higher already ask him to join you or just join a party and hope they wont screw up this mission for you.). Tips on the mission: Dont bother hitting the white bubble thingies( And shield when they attack) and focus on the real monsters. There is a part where trojans will come trying to kill you (Pretty harsh for someone who has not even reached T2 yet) Also if you didnt know, a good way to deal with the trojans is have someone distract him and the rest of the party hit the from the behind or if you are soloing (which i dont recommend for new players) just wait until the last second before he strikes and hit him from behind. After the missions you have full 2* which is great. Keep doing the missions until you see the JK one. I highly recommend learning how to deal with him before trying to kill him with others, like which vials to take etc.
UPDATE THE GUIDE THOUGH.
removed post for being repeptivie.
My findings :
After using 60 mist on the first missions (im doing a f2p mission playthrough right now to see how it is for new players, using a noobie alt) i hade 1400 crowns. I have not yet left the apprentice stage, but the asi high heavy hatchet is a nice addition to my arsenal.
I follow ur guide and guess what, I'm almost a T3 player with 50k!!!
So i started using your guide and already had trouble finding a calibur recipe at kozma's what am i doing wrong?
In case you don't know, this thread has been dead for three years. Much of the information in this thread is out of date.
Nowadays you should get your Calibur recipe as a mission reward.
This is not a good guide any more. It's a year old. Stop reading it.
