Wild Hunting Blade vs Dread Venom Striker
Hey there forums.
I just picked up a recipe for a Cutter, because
a) It looks awesome
b) Both the final upgrades sound awesome
But I was wondering, which one is better? The extra wolver bite after every swing, or the chance for poison damage? Is it just situational, or is one better in general?
The Wild hunting blade looks awesome when you swing it! totally worth not being able to poison your enemies! :P
Tho, the vile striker path is great to use against the jelly king. I luckily enough got a UV of bonus dmg vs Slime low on my vile striker which makes for one awesome jelly king sword. I build both paths tho, cuz I really like the way the wild hunting blade looks.

Haha, I have the same UV Gameover.
Anyway, it's as Shoebox said, so you could say it breaks down to utility vs. style preference.
Ah alright, thanks. Venom Striker it is, more useful, and I like green better, it matches my armor.

1) Wolvers are cool and crafting some UV Strikers to make Wild Hunting Blade even deadlier. Besides, I love dogs and wolves.
2) Vile Striker totally useful against Jelly King and those pesky healers. Have a UV with medium attack speed boost in my Bazaar. Might Keep this one for myself to go Dreadly even faster.

wild hunting is better and stronger, but no status. vile stinks but has poison
I have a Hunting Blade with a Dmg vs. Slimes = Medium UV. Getting ready to up it to a WHB as soon as I have a few more dollars to sink into the game. That, stacked with the dmg vs. Slimes I get from my Salamander set has put me in a position to just breeze through JK runs now. (:

I have a Dread Venom striker...
with Damage vs Beast MAX....
and Damage vs Slime MED...
(yeah im a lucky bastard)

*Cough*Chokes* The wild hunting blade does more damage then dread venom?
It's exactly the same damage except beasts, which is about 10-15% more. Not worth it. At all. Venom owns.
Listent to shoebox xD, he knows his stuff.

who cares~ play this game long enough and you'll have BOTH, i know cuz i do~ course WHB is just for showing off in the training hall and DVS only comes out IF im gonna go to last lvl of a jk run... other than that they stay in my arsenal, theres better swords to be used...
The only real advantage of WHB against DVS is that the charge attack of WHB has more range.
But this sword style is not intended for charge attacks, using the striker line charge attacks on T3 is plain suicide.
DVS is very good for tier 2 and even for better for bosses (even for Vanaduke, the sword does quite a good job) but it totally sucks for T3 stages since is way too aggressive and its focused on 1 vs 1, is not really a sword for crowd control (unlike DA, Levi or even the Brandish lines).
I say, you should not upgrade it to 5*, leave it at Vile striker and upgrade another sword for T3.
Striker sword line will become more popular once the Brawl mode for PvP is released, since its an awesome sword for 1 on 1, just avoid using it at T3 and you will be fine.

i wish they made a 5* weapon in the cutter line that has no ability so it does more all-around dmg.
If anyone has tried WHB on Tier 3 Wolvers... it makes them teleport. Seriously, you start whacking them then they teleport behind you and bite. Incredibly annoying and makes WHB's bonus useful only for Chromalisks.
If you don't like beasts get a Flourish, it'll push them back and knock them down, do more damage than a WHB and not trigger teleport all the time.

I would recommend the dread venom striker eventhough i have a wild hunting blade. The wild hunting blade's second hit(wolver bite) seems to be a little slower then the dread venom striker(not been tested). But the wild hunting blade looks cool if you want I can show it to you sometime if your aiming for the dread venom. IGN: Yongchi
Go for the Vile Striker.
Its a bit harder to craft, but it's better in the long run because it offers poison support.
Something not many weapons can do.
The Wild Hunting Blade is situational, being a replacement for piercing damage if you go sword only.
But even then, you're better off just using a 3-hit sword against beasts, since they interrupt attacks.
