i have played spiral knights for a couple of weeks now and i dont know if the makers read the forums but i have some ideas for the game...
clockwork weapons: need energy to work eg: minigun, flamethrower*, mega sword
dual weapons: second weapon takes shields place eg: dual guns, dual swords
two handed weapons: takesup two weapon slots eg: mega sword, minigun
ablitys**: in a ablity slot eg: tame monsters***, run and attack faster, healing teammates and/or self

dual weapon/two handed has been discussed time and time again the consensus is that it's a bad idea to replace something as vital as a shield
abilities that uses energy are evil. taming monsters is just dumb i don't want AI to screw up the group's efforts
