I've been using the Cobalt armor set and the defender
been upgrading.
I'm about to get the solid Cobalt Armor and helm.
I am also using a Ascended Calibur currently and will upgrade it to a Leviathan
My gun a magna
Is my kit decent for a swordsman

Nope... you are missing alot of dmg and aspd without skolver/vog... + Frezze/Fire resist.
Armors needs a rework....
This makes me rage, i spent energy on this.
Oh well.
How much do you guys think i can sell this set for?
Also where do i get the thing where i can unbind stuff
GET SOMETHING ELSE. EVEN JELLY HAS A STUN RESIST.
Seriously, mix armor types, full norm/piercing won't save you from Zombies, and Gun puppies will slaughter you. Also, get some armor with status resists. Magic set is good, especially with Divine set. Great against fiends too: just don't use it against my precious Devilites. OR YOU. WILL. PAY. =_=
Bought the dusker set . Is that better?
Yep, as a swordsman you'll benefit from that armor.
Don't bother unbinding or selling your Cobalt, just keep it as a costume for fun. It costs more to unbind than to create a new Cobalt set.
Be happy you didn't make it an 5* set before jumping into the forums for advice...
Eventually you'll need to decide on which path to make your dusker.
A good place to start would be here:

Lol, i saw the swordsman guide a few times and decided to be a vigilante and go for a cobalt .
Thanks guys.
Also is the Tier 4 defender shield any good?
Eh, just like the Cobalt set, there are shields that do the same job as Defender but are better. Specifically, the lack of a status resistance means that there aren't any situations where it would do noticeably better than other piercing shields.
I know you asked about the 4* Defender, but 5* shields really are important to upgrade to so have to consider the end purpose of going up the Defender line.
Even a Royal Jelly Shield (not recommended) would shrug off a Lumber's attack better than an Aegis due to its Stun resistance. As it is now, the Aegis can perform about well as a Barb Thorn Shield, which also lacks status resistance, but that shield has a Sword Damage Medium Bonus.
Then there is the elemental-typed Heater Shield, the other 5* option for the Defender line. It is great in freeze strata, but is outclassed by the Grey Owlite which protects against Fire and Shock, both much more deadly than Freeze. Until there is a T3 Freeze boss I don't think you'll see many Heater Shields around.
i still waiting for a general armors reworks "sight" is just unfair to see useless armors.
Thanks for the help
Should i try to go for the Barbarous thorn shield?
Or should i should just commit go the Tier 5 Defender.
keep the defender and use it for Jelly king runs but start building up an owlite for everywere else.
Ok,
Also is my ascended calibur good for now?
Should a get a sealed swords and go for GF/DA?
Or are they not needed ?
cobalt set should be revamped : < ,i think 3rings should give it some status resist ( like curse ) or make it have ele+shadow+piercing+normal defense if you make it to azure ( suggesting) .leviathan is good sword . try to play with sealed sword first, if you find it suit you , then go DA :)
Got to craft my dusker to an ashtail set
Woot, i was thinking to pick up a brandish and get one of them to have elemental damage
to go along with my leviathan when i craft it
Or should i save up and go with a sealed sword?
Do you like 2 or 3 hit swords? The 2 hit swords are very slow but have a wide arc and lots of knockback, some people hate it, some love it. Depends on your play style.
I love 3 hit swords. I feel like 2 hit swords are too slow.
but on the other hand do MASSIVE damage (and i have full skolver + Barbarous Thorn Shield wich is 3 x medium attack bonus = maximum attack bonus)
my gran faust and (soon to be) divine avenger are lethal (you do however need to learn to shield cancel) if you want you can craft 2 medium ASI trinkets BUT don't be fooled the sword will still feel cluncky and slow (if i use my calibur it's like i'm using a cutter haha) it just allows you to use the second slash more often (wich in turn with the faust will give you a chance to inflict curse -> curse a silk wing and watch it heal to death haha)
i also made the cobalt mistake but stopped at 2* with the armor haha (fiew*) and started to work towards my skolver (and now going for vog and then i dunno there are a few others i want so i can face everything)

With that said (I feel the same way BTW) Take a look at going with Glacius (elemental) and Acheron (shadow) both off the brandish line, are 3 hit, and both have good charge attacks. With these youll do bonus damage to 4 of the 6 enemy types (jellies and gremlins for Acheron and constructs and undead with Glacius) and normal damage to the other 2 (fiends with Glacius and beasts with Acheron) or you could grab a snable barb with the fang tokens and have them covered as well.
I used to use DA and GF heavily. Now I prefer Glacius and Acheron in most situations. Against single enemies, the damage per second is better. While charging, you are able to move at full speed. No one ever talks about that, but I've found it to be a huge advantage! I charge Acheron all the time to deal with gremlin menders, while I rarely charged GF due to fear of curse.
DA and GF are really fun to use. When you are in groove, landing full two-stroke combos, they are...beautiful. But they don't really do massive damage, unless (A) your enemies are tightly packed so that you can hit a bunch of them, or (B) you have extreme CTR. I use DA in FSC.
Watching a cursed monster kill itself is fun, but if I want to kill a silkwing I'll use a piercing weapon, not GF. The fun comes from trying to dive into a crowd of monsters without getting hurt, to nail that silkwing with a single BTB or FF charge attack.
Only the weapons are useful even if they are annoying, nitronome with its flash and levi with its knockback. I never used levi for awhile(and it was my first 5 star weapon back 1 month or so when steam introduced spiral knights to many people) until now when watching youtube videos of fsc runs on it(just combine that with blitz needle and you'll contribute some damage). You just have to be careful and considerate of where other party members are when you charge it. Just hit the enemies in one direction against the wall so the enemies doesn't attack right after you knock them back to them, and I usually wait until my party members get their charge attacks in first like the DA and then release my charge attack. I find it less annoying than those that use Polaris, but I still find Polaris cool with probably the highest elemental damage, and have always wanted one months ago.
I had one party member that claimed to do 10 hits against the Jelly King and maybe killed him, but I doubt it. He said he had to get the angle right, I'm guessing against a corner or something. But eh, I have fang of vog for JK that'll give it just as much trouble.
Really, if you are going to be a swordsman, there is a much better armor line (Wolver) available to every knight.
Even if you were to consider other piercing armors, there are MUCH better candidates.
Sword's alright, gun's alright. Just not the armor.
