I'm running into a dilemma.

I've been holding onto this black rose set for a while now. The original idea was to sell them later on, though I foolishly slept through the second regalia offers while studying for midterms. Now, though, I am debating keeping them for the look, because frankly, they're pretty awesome. The payout still seems to be pretty high if you auction them on the forums. But with that much CE, would it become a quick buy to endgame? Would I still feel that I was working towards tier 3 & all the goodness of the depths of the clockworks?

I am torn. Opinions please.

Hmm

I'd keep it. A Black Rose Regalia set is quite rare and pretty awesome. Whereas a lot of CE isn't all that rare or awesome, by itself.

I agree with Culture though. Better limited edition item than something easily used in bulk, you'll be able to get millions of CE, but this is a one-time thing.

If you are going to use it keep it, however that means you do have to use it. If later on you change your mind and use another costume and never get back to the previous one, then it was better off sold.

It will still be rarer than the next costume and most likely cooler, but who knows, OOO might make a costume unbinding vendor.

If I were you, I would play around with this preview thing and really consider if I would keep it.
Helm --> Cavalier folder
Armor --> Tabard folder

Decide if you want to put accessories on it. Does it match with the set?
Or would you ultimately like a different look with a different costume altogether and retire the set to the regret pile?

I have seen very few black sets in use recently, so it would definitely stand out from the rest.
I agree with others, the CE will always come later.

Black set goes for, what, like 80k ce or something? That's the equivalent of buying 4 $50 packs. Two hundred dollars worth. You'd breeze to the endgame rather easily and still have piles left over. Might be able to buy a nice UV'd weapon or something. Mind you, there'd be no work involved in the game at that point.

Others are right about making sure you really like how the costume looks. If you decide to bind it, it's bound forever. There's no unbinding costumes, so you better well always wear it; otherwise it's a complete waste.

All that said, I'd still keep the chapeau. I'd freaking love to have a black chap. The tabard, not so much.

When it reaches 2012, I would.

To me, I don't like the Tabard very much, so I would just sell it to get stuff I want/need...Unless you've already gotten everything you want in the game & want to feel even more special wearing it around.

What Ironskullkid said is true, but only if you don't like it. Personally, I think the original Rose Regalia is awesome and well-worth keeping. It's possibly the classiest armor in the game and so few people have it.

Its a unique equip, you will be pretty pretty damn rare - never ever sell it! USE IT
