I agree with evanti.
Battle Pets
Feed em Materials? I'll finally have a use for all these jelly drops! :D
it´d be a massacre. roarmulous too.
Even though they may no longer attack and help
I still want the idea of how they look like :T
I agree with Effrul about combat pets messing up gameplay and support the idea of non-functional pets that follow players around Haven, GH, etc..
So whats the projected Value of a mini-vanaduke? And how would a mini love puppy even work?
No love puppy pet or a child of vanaduke, it's only the pets I made on the other page
So it's your thread, now, Oakgear? I like nonfunctional-for-combat pets. Just to follow around, ya know, just for the fun of it.
Someone else just posted a new thread about combat pets so I figured I'd give this thread a little bump.
I'm definitely against pets that play a role in combat.
However, a purely cosmetic pet? Would love it! Some tiny that follows you around is always fun. Back when I played WoW I used to collect all of the pets I could (always wished I could have more than one out at a time.)
Seriously, who doesn't want a smaller than normal snipe in their character color following them around? (Okay, I'm sure plenty of you don't want that, but I'd highly enjoy it.)
And it's a mini love puppy (It's next to the accessory merchant)
+1 to pets. Battle Pets? Not necessarily.
Personally I enjoy the company of a pet regardless of its functions. So to me, just having a huge collection of things that can just follow you around would be a plus -- like someone said, it could basically be a type of Accessory. Pointless that may be, but not everything has to be more than a detail. Purely aesthetic stuff is fine too, and if there were several dozen, you could individualize your persona even further. Always appreciated.
But to give them some use, I'm thinking: a pet that can carry a key for you in case you solo (or not). A pet that acts as an expansion to your dungeon inventory; adding 1 or 2 possible items to store. Basically a mule. If you play solo, it would be nice to have a pet that could automatically go pick up Crowns and Heat (and maybe - just maybe - one that could seek out hearts) so you don't have to worry about that. Perhaps a pet that can provide temporary stat bonuses if you feed them with dungeon items (vials and capsules). Has the potential to add quite a bit of depth, I might add. Would be something of a MAG-lite (Phantasy Star Online pets). Of course, you'd seriously have to make those stat bonuses mild, lest you throw off the balance of the entire game. But even so, I'm thinking being able to during a dive, decide whether or not you should focus on defense, attack, or resistances. You would be able to more easily - if ever so slightly - handle situations you weren't prepared for.
But these are just some examples off the top of my head. What I'm trying to say is: Yes, I would love to see pets of whatever form you can come up with, OOO - and I'm sure you could come up with a lot better ideas than me. My preference would be my last example, though. That could be something extraordinary, done right. PSO did have my favorite pet system ever (something you could spend days exploring); a lighter version, even if stripped down right to the bones, could do any game good.
If people would really want a sort of battle pet, why not make it a pet that gives some sort of buff instead of simply attacking? Maybe a love puppy would give a very tiny regen bonus?
Go look for The Constructor Series.
i think pets should be like permanant mecha knights, with options like choice of colour name and animal. i say they should move around and follow us when we go down into the clockworks and fight for us. they shouldnt last a few days and expire, they should last like gear on a knight. they should have their own equipping slot and should be customisable like our character. they should be a all the time addition, always following us, fighting for us and should not be a item that you use and then lose.
if there is a problem with numbers in the cockworks, like 4 knights all with pets then pets should be active when your solo. they really cant be a simple accessory or trinket because we already have them. we need this to be a new addition that gives us company, if not when playing together, then when we are playing solo. having them up and about will give a lot more character.
I REALLY dont want them to be simple atractions, armour bonuses whatever they should be a friend to watch our backs. hence my post;
"You'll never walk alone".
no.
please stop pushing this game to graveyard
