I'm having this problem where nearly every time a group of monster spawns (and occasionally at random point) my client will freeze for 1 or 2 seconds and my control will lock and I'll keep doing whatever Im doing, which usually lead to running into shadowfire in fsc or getting cornered by enemies.

Are there any fixes that might stop this hiccup? It's gotten me killed more times then I can count.

And yes, I have my video settings low and I'm not running any other programs that might take up too much ram.

If you know your ways with

If you know your ways with Java, you can tweak the options for the garbage collector. Read this http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/12849 and share your results.

I did the new shortcut rules

I did the new shortcut rules for the Java tweaks, but I'm not seeing any bonus in it.

I think my big problem is the "garbage collection" part. I get that 2on/2off lag thing in IMF and FSC. The IMF lag kicks in almost immediately at the first missile hallway which leads up into the main section. It's pretty bad until actually mobs are involved, then it's horrible. Alot of shielding. heheh

FSC is odd. It starts in Charred Court. the first level runs a little laggy, with a random spike here or there, but as soon as I start working in Charred Court, things get busted. Specifically when a Trojan gets angry and active on my screen, actually. I usually start with the top-right room, and by the time I activate the whole room, I'm starting to lag out.

this pretty much lasts through the level, and the more rooms that get finished, the worse it gets. By the time the 4th room is done, I can't actually do anything for fear of running into a magma block. I end up standing in one spot and spamming a bomb or something, and I usually die.

As I don't see anything effective being patched for this problem any time soon, would reclienting at the beginning of the level work? If I kill Javaw, it should clear out the VM, right?

Either that, or maybe I'll try to find a safe spot in the levels in question to do it.

I've been getting consistent

I've been getting consistent lag all the time since the new update, before the update everything was fine so I'm sure it's not something to do with my computer as the lag started immediately after I downloaded the update and has persisted since.

Same problem here

I've been getting the same issue as Tengu. FSC, starting in Charred Court, is almost unplayable now. I used to get the hiccups now and then and they were fast, usually less than a second long. Since the last update, They are much more common. Charred Court was the worst for me. A hiccup every 5 seconds that would last almost 2 seconds. I died by so much shadow fire because of it. Heck, even lags in Haven Auction House area.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think the game spikes when the enemies spawn, (maybe when they are killed too.) That's usually when I notice spikes starting.

All the tweaks in the 'garbage collector' topic did absolutely nothing for me. I even tried tricking the game to run 64bit java, which also did nothing to improve this.

It's not network lag, it's definitely the game or java. I'm not far from OOO in SF, in fact, I can walk there if I wanted, (I dunno if that's where their game servers are located though). I should really stop by and complain in person, haha. But I have a consistent 3 bar ping. Never lower unless I'm using my bandwidth elsewhere. Network lag I've seen, if I am downloading stuff while playing, the game doesn't hiccup, just rubberbands you, and monsters or players appear to walk off screen. This is not the problem I'm having.

Running Win7 64bit, playing SK thru Steam, Steam overlay off. I'm probably going to try and uninstall java and SK and reinstall.

Any other info I can provide or things I can try, lemme know.
