Anyone remember Energy Gates in Treasure Vaults?

Yeah, those things were you spend extra energy and unlock it for a minimal amount of treasure? Those things that nobody ever uses? Yeah.
I guess not every content addition is meant to be used. You might check out what's behind the gate once, but then you'll never touch it again.

Red boxes usually yield some
Red boxes usually yield some heat and a token or two. You can't trade CE for either of these (unless you count the laughably overpriced heat amplifier) so if you play on CE it may be worth it open them. It's less than a rez, it's less than an elevator, and 3 ME regenerates in about 30 minutes. It can be a decent deal sometimes.

I made a suggestion thread
I made a suggestion thread asking them to take it out, if I'm so lucky why do I have to pay for my reward in ingame currency rather than taking it from my enemies?
I'll do it only if I'm still running on mist energy that I wouldn't use immediately anyway and if there are at least two other people in my party, otherwise it's like 50 crowns and MAYBE a token.

whip out your kilo/gigawatt/polaris take some well aimed spam (or sometimes this well aimed isn't even needed) and shoot the damn boxes! :D
i found a bomb and a ton of tokens haha (all worth the 3 energy)
buuuuut there are some places you can't reach them.
I have to admit 3CE for what? 15 crown and some heat wich again is useless most of the time.

I almost always have Polaris
I almost always have Polaris on me, so normally I can find out whats in the boxes before I waste my energy. If it's a closed off room that doesn't let me break them beforehand... sorry OOO, no energy going to you for them.

I just use vials to open the boxes in treasure vaults.
Doesn't work in Scarlet Devil Mansion levels (or whatever this game calls it), or in Graveyards, but it works in most places with an energy gate.
You can even usually get a good enough vantage point to tell what kind of danger room there is.

Depends on the party size
If I'm still on mist energy and I'm in a party of 4, I open the energy vaults. For one person, it's a pittance. that amount times 4 is ... well, it's still measly, but it's like a little gift to the rest of my party.
Jelly farm 2 energy turrets. You'll only activate them once to watch them do their thing.
At least you get heat and crowns from this.
If 3CE = ~180 crowns, then sometimes gates with at least 2 red boxes could be worth it. Depends who you ask.
