I am here to discuss my opinion on Cobalt Gear. Many end game players say it is the worst armor to use, while that could be true I disagree. I like how Mighty Cobalt Armor and the Mighty Defender look, and they work well. The recipes are easier to obtain and it matches with the Calibur line, which is my favorite sword! I would like to hear your opinions, too. But I really prefer not to see "Cobalt armor sucks and Wolver armor is way better" comments
Cobalt Gear
Cobalt amor sucks and pretty much any other armor is way better.
It isn't the worst armor to use if that helps you some. And it has better defense than wolver IIRC, the problem is that the difference is not so big. It is enough to play the game however, but you'll have to play good.
cobalt is a good set, traditional and reliable, but it doesnt specialize in anytthing.
You might as well use and upgrade something that provides other in-game benefits. The minimal bar difference might save you 1/2-1 damage per hit... maybe.
Wolver for pierce defense with sword damage boost.
Gunslinger for gunners with attack speed boost.
Chroma has vs. slime damage bonus for the Royal Jelly Palace bounty hunter.
Jelly is fine... in case they release sleep monsters someday.
Mercurial set has a minimal movement speed bonus, but is generally not worth the tokens.
Cobalt set has a somewhat longer bar worth of defenses, in a game where dodging and offense is preferred...
Cobalt makes a good costume. I crafted them recently to use as costumes!
If you want, you can leave them in your costume slot if you like the look. This will ensure your matching with your calibur is maintained.
As far as usability goes:
Doesn't the fact that the recipe has no rarity tip you off that it may not be ideal?
While they "may work well", as you say, others can work better, even if you were just to look at the realm of piercing defense. (skolver offers +sword dmg, shadowsun has +gun dmg, Deadly Virulisk Suit has +dmg to slime, etc.)
I won't discuss shadow and elemental defense armor peices, but you should consider them.
@Krannx
Actually, it specializes in normal and piercing defense.
As far as the words "traditional and reliable"... what does that mean?
I suppose it fits the generic "knight" look best, if that's what you mean by traditional...
traditional because every npc knight seems to use it. it existed before cradle.
reliable cuz it has a good normal defence, so its like the common knights armor set
i mean no specialization like bonuses. it has a piercing defense that i cant see where it came from.
and wolver armor makes u look like a furry. it sucks. Snarbolax coat is cool though.
Sypsy I don't mind that it's not rare and easy to buy the recipes for and from what I can tell nobody buys them anyway. I don't like to specialize in anything for the one fact that I like to use everything! Also Sypsy making it in my costume slot would cost to much for me I do not really plan on buying energy soon as I would prefer to have the Mighty Cobalt Set. Kraanx I am glad someone else sees this the way I do. It is not that I think Wolver Armor is bad or anything for Wolver lovers ,but as I said I do not want to specialize in anything.
One more thing, I don't plan on making this set to five star if you notice four star gear is practically the same when level ten ,but I do understand that a level ten five piece of gear will be better! So far thanks for the info!
Rangerwill and Zealousd you just cracked me up!
i meant to say it makes you look like a furry(TO ME) . its got a few cool bonuses. keep on finding your own path.
I am happy to say that I jut made my Blaster and am on my way to Valiance!
Let's get our facts straight:
- Experienced players tend to think in terms of 5-star gear, because that's where everything ends up. So when people argue with you over the merits of Cobalt vs. Wolver or Gunslinger, they are really comparing Azure Guardian to Skolver and Justifier/Shadowsun.
- Azure Guardian offers slightly more damage protection than Skolver or Justifier/Shadowsun. But experienced players favor offensive bonuses over slight damage protections that have little effect on Tier 3 anyway. Furthermore, Skolver offers an important status protection.
- A full Azure Guardian set is is extremely specialized, not general-purpose! Namely, it is suitable only for beast- and slime-heavy strata, and even there it doesn't help with status effects.
- Are you sure that 4-star Cobalt armor is about the same as 5-star? I hope you know that you can't trust stat bars.
I'm glad that not everyone has the same equipment. I'm glad that there are people walking around in Cobalt, Jelly, etc. And yes it should be possible to beat anything in the game (e.g. Lord Vanaduke) in Azure Guardian armor, if you're really skilled. But you should seriously consider that there may be good reasons why Skolver/Justifier/Shadowsun is more popular than Azure Guardian.
I have considered the differences and decided I like Cobalt better!
What they said, also cobalt set has NO bonses at all. No status resistance, no ASI, no damage bonus, no CTR. It's pure lame.
Also I'd love to look like a furry if I didn't have to be like a million other wolver cap users.
Cobalt armor sucks and Wolver armor is way better.
