2. I sometimes meet the random guy proudly wearing Spiral Sallet (like me!) to indicate the game they like to play other than TF2. No more?
Now that Spiral Sallet is craftable in TF2...

WHY WHY
I like the Sallet less now though, now that they invented the "no clipping" rule and I can't wear Deus Specs or Professor Specs with it.
"Oh look, a craftable hat just for playing a crappy game for 4-6 stages." :D
I'm sure some people are thinking that already.
@Fish: Yeah, I guess it attracts some people who would eventually stay... there are still the occassional "WER IZ CLOCKWORK TERMINAL" type of proto-gear-wearing-player who just passes by and doesn't really bother--I'm guessing those are the TF2 players...
@Ren: Same reason people destroy their manniversary hats... only Sallet looks better and less worth destroying IMO.
Chances are that most hat-obsessed TF2 players (like myself :3) joined the game and got the Sallet as soon as possible. I stayed because I like the game, but thats not my point. My point is, there wont be much more TF2 migration to SK than there is at any other time.
Also, I do wear my Sallet in TF2 on occasion, but because I have a Vintage Tyrant's Helm (black paint) on my soldier (who looks the best with the Sallet imo) I dont wear it too often. Maybe in a trade server.
