hiya all,
I'm a new knight, and I thought I should introduce myself.
My ING is Ndognine (I wanted Ndog but it was taken T_T), if u see me ingame just call me Ndog. I got the game this Monday, October 17. I got it at first to get the free TF2 hat, but ended up loving the game. Right now I am tier 2, for no other reason then my friend who bought and gave me a Wolver set and a Spur. Now I'm working on getting my calibur upgraded to a Tempured Calibur (just need 200 energy now...) I have a few shields, but can't seem to decide which to use/upgrade.
Now as for my questions:

-I heard somewhere it's better to save up and buy weapons/armor until 4*. is this a good idea to follow, or should I spend the money on 200 energy?
-What is a good place to Crown farm? I did a graveyard with someone today and got lots of crowns, is there a way to predict and get more of them, or should I just hope for the best?
-As stated above, I can't decide what shield to use/upgrade. At the moment I have a Brissling Shield, Plate Shield, and Owlite Shield. Any recommendations on which path to use/follow?

-I have some metal and things from TF2 that I want to unload for Spiral Knights stuff, anyone interested?

Some Tips

1.) I think that you should just wait until its 4* but that's your choice
2. No idea but Jelly King and Battle Arenas are good ideas
3. You should probably upgrade the Owlite shield. That's a good shield all around

I honestly like crafting, but

I honestly like crafting, but that's just me. I feel that the end result is always going to be around the same price regardless. I guess one could say that buying the armor straight up is easier, so you don't have to have the recipes and materials to craft it, but I imagine it would be really expensive. I guess it's more of a preference thing.

Any gate that has a lot of Arenas, a Jelly King Boss Stratum, or a Roarmulus Twins Boss Stratum are pretty nice ways to make crowns; with Jelly King being the best in my opinion. I would check the gate map before doing any dives. Both before going through the clock works and before you get on the elevator for the next level. Some levels switch/rotate for a new one after a while, so you can wait it out for a more favorable one. Not to mention the Boss Stratums can give you some tokens for epic weapons.(Netting 20 Jelly Gems from Jelly King, for example, can get you an Antigua or a Sealed Sword. Both of which can be upgraded into stronger weapons.) EDIT: I would actually not recommend Roarmulus Twins(YET.) It's not hard or anything(I honestly consider it fairly average on a good day.), just extremely laggy....

Hm, I feel Owlite is the best for Elemental defense, but that's just me. Do you mean Bristling Buckler, instead of Brissling Shield? Cause that series is pretty nice too, for the sword damage boost.

And you should try the Bazaar section for trades, you might have better luck there than here. :P

From what i've heard.

Answer to saving or using to buy 200 energy:

It's really up to you if your willing and patient enough to "grind" for crowns.

Answer to Crown farm:

Yes graveyards are good. That and joining a party of friends once they've reached the "halfway point" (still not sure what that is) of a tier. Others may say it grants more heat and crowns. I do not know of a way to predict or if there is such a way.

Answer to upgrade:

I would go eith upgrading the owlite.
