I just saw that Dungeon Defenders has the portal guns (as a Steam bonus at least). Now I know one thing for sure: Spiral Knights needs them too! :D

Perhaps a clockworks floor

Perhaps a clockworks floor that gives you a portal gun to solve some simple puzzles in order to continue.

Unless it's a special, one

Unless it's a special, one time use gun for a specific level, it won't work since it'd allow players to evade closed gates after a party button.Plus the game doesn't have that "3d gameplay".

Could be fun for novelty

Could be fun for novelty value, for a limited time on specific floors that disable your other gear the way Juances suggests, but...well, I already own both Portal games, you know? If I want some fun portal-based action puzzle gametimes, I already have two really excellent options.

Unlike dungeon defender, SK's

Unlike dungeon defender, SK's play area is highly limited and there are very few candidate surfaces where this could work. They would need to design the level around the concept, just to keep people from trapping themselves on accident (or on purpose).

If you are not currently in the employ of Aperture Science Inc or its affiliated companies, you will be offered a position with the Enrichment center as an authorized test subject, following an optional background and criminal record check as per normal hiring procedures.
