New shadow lairs--need a way to tone down graphical effects more than ever now!

I am one of the many players who has a decent amount of lag and latency on SK. Most notably in FSC.

The snarby shadow lair. What can i say. 90% of it was easily twice as laggy as the worst parts of FSC. Be forewarned.
3 occasions my teammates went floating into 'outerspace' outside of the maps. Followed by litearally 1-2 minutes of lag time stops. I could move around, but not break any blocks, not talk to my teammates, everyone else is frozen or endlessly walking in their last direction.

This is caused in great part do to new 'cool ambience effects added into the levels. More than ever we need a way to turn this off, in these new toughest dungeons. Parts were mostly unplayable, where i had to rely on my teammates to do the work. 2 of us were having this problem (our worst lag ever). Another who doesn't have usual lag issues was having his 'worst lag ever' but not as bad as me and the other guy. And one guy who never has lag was having his 'worst lag ever' but very playable (i assume something like us usual laggers experience in FSC).

Is there any way to increase

Is there any way to increase the software memory limit on JAVA?
The moment Java peaks at 0.5 GB of memory, it starts lagging.

I have a computer that can play Crysis on like High and I lag on a game like spiral knights?

yes there actually is

you have to launch SK using Java with more allocated memory

@Xchiefyx Dropped frames is a

@Xchiefyx
Dropped frames is a term used when talking about video where some frames are simply not shown because computer is too slow.

FPS is term used for PC gaming - means frames per second. Stuttering, also known as low FPS value, means your game looks more like a slide show than a quality-made video. Good FPS is anything above 50, at least for me. Spiral knights easy drops to 30 or lower in certain areas of the game (regardless of video card and settings - tested on Min and Max, GT 430 and GTX 560 Ti Nvidia video cards). Higher FPS - more enjoyable experience.

Lag is mostly used as a network term, meaning problems with connection (takes too much time for data to travel from your PC to server and back).

Please be more specific when you mention "bad lags" regarding Shadow Lair.

@round

I know but i assume people wouldnt have taken that literally and just thought i meant FPS i can play perfectly smooth and i dont lag anywhere i have always had very good ping and latency around 40 ping on anygame i play except when i use my xbox and computer at the same time then the highest i go with latency is 70 - 100 maybe

i dont suffer lag issues in FSC never have unlike most of the community.

How?

"you have to launch SK using Java with more allocated memory"

How might one do this? How much memory do you allocate?
