Just checked the wiki, and my ingame screenshot of the Snarbolax coat and cap.
Now I'm not sure if the bars are lying again, but the stat bars are equal in comparison to Skolver. Are you comparing level 10 to level 10? or level 1 to level 10?
Am i missing something? Because it looks as if its as powerful as the Skolver, with a swap out for Shadow damage.
If anyone could actually confirm that it is weaker then the stats say, by in-game damage comparison at level 10 heat, then that would be good.
Snarbolax set...Why do people hate it?
Ah i see. Thanks for explaining that to me, i never understood it.
But now... You Vogs and Skolvers can also have a Shadow resist peice, instead of mass rolling for it. Plus you get a poison bonus which is nice.
Stop raging guys :P
OOO wont change anything, and thats too bad for us.
Yeah, would be nice if the Snabolax set had freeze resistance that was on par with Skolver. It also would have been more interesting if it came with Sword CTR instead to further distinguish it from Skolver. As much trouble as it is to craft, I'm a bit annoyed that it even requires a heated up Ash Tail to craft (though this does make it waaaay cheaper to get UV on). I would have rather seen it with better stats, but more work to get (at a reasonable cost). Like a reward item for ultimate tokens.
Is it correct that Rabid Snarbolax Shadow Lair gives double Frumious Fang tokens for beating the Ultimate boss(s)? Who the heck, that is playing at the 5* level, still needs these coins? Just seems silly.
The Snarbolax set does look really nice though. If I could this would be my shadow armor, but that is going to have to wait for key prices to come waaaay down or be more prevalent then ~2% of Lockboxes...
Sword CTR on it... I'm ALL for that. It'd really define it as a set, rather than just making it a repeat.

The shadow lairs all give double tokens, although you also get a unique material needed to craft the new armours.
"Who the heck, that is playing at the 5* level, still needs these coins? Just seems silly."
I know many 5* who haven't got the whole set of token weapons (simply because it is easy to be done with T1 before doing Snarby 10x). Others may have sold theirs after rolling a decent, but imperfect UV. Sure at 5* you are likely able to just buy them off AH, but I have no issue getting some bonus tokens and potentially another weapon to sell / roll UVs :)
snarby set is NOT bad at all(if u have and like ur Skolver like me u would know that)
i do FSC in Skolver fine with no problems so replacing my pierc def for shadow would be really great, but i think Vog ppl would not like it coz they r used to FSC with Fire resist and a fast DA, i can deal well with fire and i dont even use DA, everyone may get some hits from the too many slags so shadow would help(thats why im working on a deathshoot set(wrong spelling? ) has VH Udead damage bonus on all weps and shadow def so may serve better than Skolver for me)
and CTR? Really? Depending on charges isnt the right way to do things unless u r a bomber
whats so bad about it? skolver is pericing defense, vog is elental defense, and the new snarby is shadow. you get all the defenses in the wolver line! :D
assuuuuming you can get the snarbolax gear
also it is not even a repeat of skolver... there are mobs that deal piercing shadow and elemental ALL no damage type is left out so you have a set for each type of damage there is no repeat about it its a whole different set.
the barborous thorn shield belongs to this set am i not correct? so having a Sword CTR would help the set along a swords only theme atrcating more people
Stop complaining about what it is missing. Do you realize just how much MORE flexible your options as a sworder already are?
Sword users can now choose b/n pierce, shadow, or elemental. Plus u get to choose fire or ice resist. Your armor gives the best bonuses. You have a 2 shields that give you a boost to your sword. WTF????????
All bomb armors are elemental damage. Bomb armors aren't particularly different from each other, more truthfully all but one or 2 pieces just kinda suck.
Gun armor:...well guns are just flat underpowered so it doesn't matter.
Barbarous thorn shiled: it would be like if they made a shield that reduced fuse time for bombs or blast radius.
Sword users now have the flexibility to have any defense they want--all from the wolver line!!!! So much flexibility in how u want to use good uvs...it's pathetic. Stop crying.
P.S. Kind of a silly place for my rant, since i didn't see anyone in this thread crying :D
what annoys me (not that it matters, I am f2p so i dont see it wise for me to get a snarby set when i could use that energy/crowns to get two or three of any other set) is that its basicly a skolver reskin with shadow resist.
In my opinion, snarby armor should have had CTR med, or both damage and ASI low to distinct itself. And resist to stun and poison, but none to freeze (how does freeze fit into snarby?). I am not of the opinion that the shadow lair armors should be better than other 5*, but they should bring something you cant realy get elsewere, ctr would have filled that well.
for the most part i am okay with the shadow armors, i think they could be more distinct, and dont understand the fire penalty on almiren suit at all. Of course i am barely at 5* myself, so I only know a few armors from experience, the rest is from wiki, so there is a grain of salt there.
Just to clarify, if you are able to run Shadow Lair and split the cost, Shadow Lair items are in fact cheaper than regular 5* items, because they don't require recipe, and 350CE + 2 energy revive < 25KCr (if you go over, you were probably not prepared enough and should consider it as training).
On topic, i love my Snarby set, the look is awesome (matter of taste), and it fill a nice niche for shadow resist swordsman-specific armor. I can't see why people would complain about that, it's yet another advantage for swordsmen. As a swordsman, i'm certainly not going to complain, but i feel bad for gunners and bombers (the new bomber armor is a joke, and gunners have very few options).
It's on par with Skolver, people dislike it because it isn't better than Skolver and certainly not Vog despite being substantially harder to make due to requiring you to run Ultimate Wildwoods twice.
