If I were to sell my binded Item, Can I ask the buyer for unbinding fees first then giving him the sword for the rest of the payment? Or is this an illegal way of trading items?
Question regarding bind
So, Say I want to sell a binded item here, I can ask for the unbinding fees to unbind it? I know people would doubt the legitimacy of this trade, So how can I prove that I will not run off with their CE? I really need to get rid of one of my swords so I could make some CE.
Unbind it then trade it for the full price (item cost + unbinding cost).
Or you could just craft a sword, avoid equipping it, and sell it.
You can try trade or zone chat, but most players won't trade or pay up front for an item (like you're suggesting). The Auction House is the only guaranteed way you know that you won't get the raw end of the deal, this means you have to pay the unbinding fee, but you can factor that into what you place it in the auction house for.
However, be sure to look and see whether it's actually worth the unbinding fee. Some weapons are desirable (and thus it's perfectly profitable to unbind) and some are not (meaning they're worth less than what you pay for unbinding).
people don't like getting scammed
but if your character is decked out, or have a lot of valuable gear; people are more willing to trust you
this is because if you do scam them, you'll lose your character when they report you.
there's no real way to get someone to trust you.
but as mentioned above, you might just have to pay the unbind fees first (or at least have enough to unbind the item) and then try and sell it, if you get a buyer, then go and unbind.
It doesn't break the rules. All you're doing is asking him for part of the price in advance, then charging him for the real weapon once you give it to him. It's not like you're swindling anyone.
