I was hoping we could try to get an organized effort to create a yellow gate, since the yellow levels seem to be the rarest. My idea is to wait until a new gate appears that already has a substantial amount of yellow, and then do deposits of 25 yellow and 25 other color at a time (unless anyone knows the exact amount required to make a new floor), then throw in a dusk drop so our bottom 5~10 floors could have yellow levels, to see what would happen. The reason I don't want full yellow deposits (except maybe once or twice to see what happens) is because I heard that yellow MIGHT need to be mixed with another color to make a level, and I'd like to test that theory.

I just want to know if anyone else is interested in helping before I start investing in Dusk Drops and stocking up on yellow minerals.

Here's my plan, in case

Here's my plan, in case anyone wanted to know it ahead of time.

I'm going to make 9 Dusk Drops. I'm going to only use them when there's going to be a deposit that's roughly %50 Luminite, and hopefully in quantities of 50 or greater total minerals (25 Luminite and 25 some other color). I want to use 2 of these Dusk Drops in deposits of 100 or greater (50 Luminite and 50 of another single color) so I can also get a rough estimate of how many minerals are needed to create a floor. If possible, I'd like to split these 8 floors evenly between the 4 other minerals, so 2 will be half Crimsonite, 2 will be half Dark Matter, and so on. I'm also going to use my first Dusk Drop on a deposit that's hopefully 100 Luminite and nothing else, so that our bottom floor can have a pure yellow level, just to see what it's like. This is the primary reason I want to wait for a mainly yellow gate to appear, because I don't know how the starting mineral deposits of a gate affect the levels it creates, and I have no idea what a pure yellow level might be.

If everything goes perfectly, almost every floor below Emberlight will have a yellow level of some kind, and hopefully we'll get something fun out of it. At the very worst, we'll learn that it takes 600 minerals to create a floor (unlikely) and waste a lot of dusk drops, but at least the 28th floor of the gate will be loaded.

Yeah, it won't be perfect, but it's not as if we need EVERY deposit to be exactly like this. By utilizing the Dusk Drops, we can ignore the messed up deposits and push all the good ones to the bottom. I'm also hoping that the amount needed to make a floor is currently 50~100, which means other people shouldn't mess it up too much, but the other half of this experiment is to get a rough estimate of how many minerals are needed to make a floor. If this attempt fails, I'll build up my energy stores and try again.

Exum and I are gathering as many minerals as we can during our speed runs, particularly the yellow and red ones. We can also craft extra dusk drops if need be. We just need a designated time and gate to dump all of our mats in.

For the blue cyclops gate that's opening up in an hour, anyone have any idea what color of minerals we should dump into that?

So 51 reds and 51 yellows were added to the tray just now to bring the mineral count to 100 per color. I was thinking that two blocks would appear, one red and one yellow - following the theory that 100 minerals = 1 block. However, only one red block appeared after the deposit.

Can anyone clarify what just happened then?

Maybe the first tray has 98 (no blocks), the second tray has 102 (one block), and ...

and then, either short trays have no effect, or a hidden fractional block -- maybe a lot of short trays eventually produce a block.

Interesting test: Put in a tray with one red, and one yellow; see if the two short trays combine for a block.

... ahh, another 51/51 is being deposited. You wouldn't happen to be Kharnor?

Exum and I have been sitting around Emberlight for a while now adding our reds and yellows in increments of 25 to see what happens with the tower.

About to run out of minerals though, so we're not going to monitor it for much longer.

Gates arrive with nothing. Brand new gates are empty (verified twice).

If they have yellow when you look, it's because someone else stuffed yellow in before you saw it.

Okay guys, I logged on 15 minutes late last night, so my bad. Anyways, the purple serpent gate has 4 days till opening, so I say we make that the gate. I'll be on idling most of the day, so if you want to help with the deposits, let me know. The first deposit I want to be just 250 Lumenite with 2 Dusk Drops, of which I can provide 121 of the Lumenite and both the Dusk Drops.
