I wanted to get some ideas on a thought I have been having. If I were to have an Ash Tail Coat with an Elemental Defense UV, does it matter if it's crafted to Skolver or Vog? Would I receive more or less defense going in either direction?

Yes, I figured this would be the case, but have seen posts where people weren't completely sure what was going on with UV transfers.

Defense does have diminishing
Defense does have diminishing returns though. So if you have two armor pieces with elemental already the extra elemental defense will add less then if you had only one piece of armor with elemental or zero pieces with elemental.

Working under the assumption
Working under the assumption that you will eventually craft both sets (Vog & Skolver) if it were me I would rather have a Vog with extra tough elemental then a Skolver with tiny (relative to Normal and Piercing) bit of elemental.
I believe you'd receive the same defense going in both directions.
It's not like the UV's stats are going to change if you upgrade to Vog Cub or Skolver.
If you craft your Ash Tail to Vog Cub, you'll get an added Elemental boost to the Vog's already Elemental/Normal defense.
If you craft your Ash Tail to Skolver, you'll get the same Elemental Defense boost on top of the Skolver's Piercing/Normal defense.
Which way the Ash Tail is crafted to is entirely up to your preference.
Vog Cub = Attack Speed Increase
Skolver = Damage Bonus
The Elemental Defense UV is just a cherry to top it all off. :D
