Why does its stats have to be so terrible. It's pretty hard to get too. :(
Almirian Crusader stats
I don't think it's too bad. Probably not as good as other sets(Such as the Wolver series.), but I feel its pretty respectable. Look at it this way, at least its not overpowered.
But then you realize that it's Deadshot, but with 3*-level Curse resist and a Fire vulnerability instead of a DB Undead Med.

Oh my I didn't noticed that....it's practically, if not close, to being strictly better than Almirian Crusader Armor...And that's kinda disappointing. :(
I dunno, I rather have armor that is "under-powered and hard-to-get" versus "over-powered and hard-to-get", at least then a lot more people have a better chance at getting it, without the need of investing too much resources.
Maybe the Deadshot series needs a nerf?(Don't really know what extent, to keep current players happy while making the Almirian Crusader still decent.)
No, almirian sucks :P it needs its fire defense be positive instead of negative to become decent, maybe they screwed up the sign

Honestly, does it really suck, or is it just sucky compared to other stuff? Cause to me, it seems to be the more of the latter.(Although Fire Resistance would have been nice, and made some sense too.)
Honestly it does really suck. It gives shadow defense, which is probably the least important to protect against, small curse resistance, which is the least important status resistance, and it has NEGATIVE fire resistance, which is one if the most deadly statuses in the game. Deadshot is way better, but is not very overpowered at all. I'm pretty sure Almire crusader is the second worst 5* armor set. It looks awsome though.
Deadshot is slightly better, but almirian crusader was created for use in the darkfire- where curse is a rampant status affect.
also, darkened crest (or whatever) was created for normal FSC: fire resist, shadow, all that,
but alimirian crusader is more of a costume to me, honestly.
Deadshot is practically entirely better for that purpose;
- Almirian has Curse resist about as strong as a 3* piece, as opposed to Deadshot's 5* resist strength
- Basically the same Normal/Shadow defense
- Almirian still has the Fire weakness
- Deadshot has DB Undead, and Slag Guards are Undead
- Honestly it does really suck. Deadshot may not be overpowered in a sense that its too good in general, but it's overpowered in a sense that's its just way better than Almirian Crusader Armor. And that's the problem I have with it. If it gave the damage boost, but it's status resistances were a lot more weaker than the crusader's and had much more lower defense values, then I would be fine with that. Your trading a fair bit of defense, in favor of more strength. In this case Deadshot has slightly less, if not close to the same defensive values as Almirian Crusader Armor and more.
When I see one armor that's the same * level as the other and it's practically "strictly better" than the other armor(Maybe it's slightly weaker defensive wise, but honestly, does extra points of defense really matter at this point? Especially when it gives you a lot more status protection.), then that's when I feel disappointed.
EDIT: As for the negative fire resistance, wouldn't it be better not to take it through a fire stratum? I mean, that's why we have a variety of armors that we can switch before diving at a start point or at a terminal; right? I wouldn't really consider shadow defense the least important as well, but that's just me, cause I have an extreme hatred for fiends in general.
Deadshot can't help it that a similar armor was released. If you're going to gripe about two similar sets of armor except one outclasses the other entirely, try Snarbolax vs Dread Skelly.
Almirian Crusader stinks in general because EVERY OTHER shadow armor out there gives superior benefits except in defense. T3 favors status resists and weapon boosts over actual defense, so losing trade. Even if you don't take it through fire strata, you're still only using a 3* curse resist against mob types that you generally don't bring Faust against.
Look at it this way, most armors bring two defenses, one high and the other low, and one "max" status resist. Now, if they also get added a "low" movement or general damage bonus or a "medium" general weapon bonus or a second status resist then they receive the penalty of a "max" status weakness. Sometimes the penalty is even lower defenses, or an UV penalty instead. The overpowered gear gets the bonuses but not the penalties.
Almirian has two defenses, no special bonus at all, and the resistances cancel each other, so the armor only has defenses and that's it, so it sucks :P If the fire was positive both status resist would add up and make the armor "average".
just think of it as a craftable & heatable costume that can be unbind ;)
costumes cannot be unbound, and making it cost tokens wont make it cost more than the shadow lairs drops, the good point is if u got all u need but the mat to craft 1 successful trip can get u the item ;)
same as all the other 5 sets(except Snarby for some, i think its a great set as costume AND as actual armor set)
