Hi,
Alex-Sniper-Fan here.
I've been playing for quite some time now, being 5* and farming Vanaduke. For awhile I've wanted an upgrade from that same old Haven, just gets boring over-time.
I'd like to use this opportunity to point out that lots of people aren't playing the game anymore due to the broken economical system and just boredom, some of these players were friends of mine.
As it says on the "About" tab: "The Spiral Knights have awoken on an alien world". Yes everybody, an ALIEN world!!! Yes, we're on an alien planet, why haven't the aliens defending their planet?
Now to the point! I've had this idea brewing in my mind for nearly a month and want to take action. Lets make a DLC!

My idea for the DLC:
The core has been opened! Almost like a 4th tier... except not. I believe the Gremlin King lies waiting in the core with his gremlins building mass weapons of destruction! I believe he will rise and attack haven, opening the core! Destroying haven, but we will still be there. Haven will be destroyed with active fires around, knocked down buildings, holes in the ground (The gremlins came out from), it's all DARK (Night all the time), and the core available to the knights that dare venture deep enough.
AND every hour a giant drill comes through one of those holes and an alarm in haven goes off. All the knights pull out weapons and you have to defeat the attackers (Everybody, all knights in that haven, all havens at the same time.

A couple more things,
Today I was at the Biodome and I found it so difficult to concentrate and just observe these animals in their habitats. Why? Because there was so much noise and PEOPLE.
For this DLC I think it would be cool if players had the option of playing alone. Empty haven and clockworks. Even though this game is an MMO/RPG I would sincerely enjoy that feature and I'm positive others would to!
Do consider it. Also the reason it be a DLC is so we can continue with out current things

If you die in Haven, where

If you die in Haven, where would you go?

If you die

You'd appear at the normal spot where you spawn when you log on. Or you can't die. OR you just revive but at no cost.

Admin

I do hope an Admin sees this and shows it to the developers of Spiral Knights OOO

Something like this wouldn't

Something like this wouldn't have to be DLC, and really doesn't benefit from being distributed that way. Cataclysmic or world changing events occur in a lot of MMOs without having to split up the game. WoW did it, Martix Online did it (in a rather cleaver fashion), a hand full of KMMO's I used to play do on a regular basis, Guildwars even made it part of the training mission *insert baw inducing flashbacks*.

You also have the Core and the Gremlin's role in Cradle kind of backwards.... And if I'm reading the current events right, SPOILER.

Adding an alternate reality is just a matter of finding a plausible plot device, and a method to access it. Matrix Online did this through a thing call "Archives". Archives were spread around the larger game world, and contained a partial record of a previous version of the Matrix. You would load this archive like a program, and creates an instance that players could dive into it, interact, or even retrieve objects out of it. Once the program is finished executing, the instance simply ceases to exist and any influence the player had made on the world no longer matters.

+1, but...

i really like this idea, i got tired of haven and its eternal day time, but imagine you're in AH bidding for an item, and suddenly, the alarm goes off, crap, gremlins everywhere! and after the battle is over, that item is no longer in sale.
