Is it a reasonable price ?
Shadow key cost reasonable ?
It's more than reasonable. It's merely twice the cost of a Silver Key.
Shifting goal posts...
If shadow lairs was originally released with a 1500CE cost, people would have thought that was crazy expensive, but since people are used to paying over 7500CE per key, the keys look cheap now.
To me, 1500CE is still *WAY* too expensive, that isn't $5 worth of content to me. I know many others will think otherwise, but I'm still not interested. Maybe 150CE, I would bite.
Perhaps. However, you might be forgetting that you can split that price in 4 effectively, since a full party can help to chip in, effectively making the price of a Shadow Lair run 375CE.
Additionally, you can also factor in the special 5* mat and 5* armor crafting opportunity, which also presents a way to easily get back and multiply your initial investment. That's actually exactly what the early delvers have done.
However, you might be forgetting that you can split that price in 4 effectively
I mostly solo because the game is far more fun most of the time that way. This really isn't an option or me, and i suspect I'm far from alone on this. (I mostly solo on puzzle pirates too, and that is a *VASTLY* more social game where soloing is *MUCH* harder.)
Even split 4 ways, that is still *WAY* too expensive. Do one several times a week and you are way over the cost of subscribing to most games.
Additionally, you can also factor in the special 5* mat
So what? Most T3 runs give you a 5* mat.
5* armor crafting opportunity
The wiki is pretty empty on details, but I haven't heard of any of them that are worth even trying.
"To me, 1500CE is still *WAY* too expensive, that isn't $5 worth of content to me."
It is a 1.25$ content if you split the cost four ways.
This is kind of a kick in the junk if you tried to go for keys before : /
lol @ 150ce. That's 38 CE per person. You want another riot?
I have heard F2P players brag they can get enough to make a 5* multiple times a week (heck even a day).
1.5K CE is well within reachable. Technically it's 375CE per person if you get other party members to compensate the key provider.
So it's even more reachable.
Queue: "I spent x dollars opening lockboxes like a crazed gambling addict who's been up for 48 hours straight and got 1 shadow key, now this? Refund NAO!"
Edit: Ninja'd
So what? Most T3 runs give you a 5* mat.
Most 5* Materials don't sell for over 3,000 cr.

I don't want a refund, I just didn't want them to lower the price. I guess one can consider it a really, really expensive preview.
Anglo, shadow lairs are not recommended to be solo'd.
I haven't done them, but ask around to see if others believe it's possible.
If you refuse to party, this is another reason these shadow keys are not relevant for you. In this context, why are you so vocal about your opinion?
Most 5* Materials don't sell for over 3,000 cr.
Some of them used to sell forr over 30k cr. These won't sell for a huge amount forever either, since they can only be used to craft crap armor.
.
As for people crying over reduced prices: a fool and their money... If they didn't think one run was worth $20, they shouldn't have spent it. I can't see the prices going back up, I can only see them going down even more.
If you refuse to party
I don't refuse to party, I went through the new twins gate today as a party leader with people. I just find the game is usually more fun that way. All the other content in SK is doable solo, I don't think it is out of line to expect this to hold true for new content. Traditionally, OOO has supported a variety of play styles.
In this context, why are you so vocal about your opinion?
Because new content would be nice to have.
Not exactly reasonable, IF you were hoping to run Shadow Lairs just for the sake of grinding while not losing money, or gaining profit; UFSC won't give more than 20K crowns worth per person, I believe. In order for the crowns themselves pay for the trip, Shadow Keys would have to be ~1100 CE. (considering energy cost to descend, aswell)
Considering the general quality of the armor, and now the sort of cheap price, I really doubt the Shadow Materials or armor will be worth much in the future, and even if they do, there will not be much demand, so they don't really add up to the stable profit rate.
But that's only for grinding. If you only wish to run Shadow Lairs a couple times for the sake of challenge/artifacts/armor, 1500CE is a pretty fine price. Myself, I'd rather grind it, though. C'mon, I've been doing nothing but FSC for six months. (occasional arena T2/T3 gates here and there, although not often enough. RJP runs sometimes too, I guess?)
But let's not forget this is temporary. It will likely have a permanent effect on armor/key pricing, but it is still temporary, and prices might fluctuate again once this "event" is over.

Opposite for me. I dread soloing even though it's much easier due to levels not being cleared faster when people can split up, and that even bad parties allow me to mooch heat when I do mass revives.

That's if you account for actually buying that CE with real $. Many do not need to.

The market demand for these Shadow Lair mat is exceptional. You can't get them any other way than going through a Shadow Lair or buying them off of someone who has. And the reason why they're so in demand leads to my last comment:
- The wiki is pretty empty on details, but I haven't heard of any of them that are worth even trying.
Market demand for them isn't high due to them being useful (aside from Snarbolax, which is itself among the easiest to acquire), but due to them being really sought-after costumes. Much like the old Rose Regalia, people have dropped dozen-thousands of CE on them the past week. Doubt it'll be high in the next few days or weeks, but the difficulty of entering and completing a Shadow Lair run will at least make them not priced the same way as other 5* equips.
Some of them used to sell forr over 30k cr.
That's irrelevant.
These won't sell for a huge amount since they can only be used to craft crap armor.
But that's wrong. They sold for a huge amount before and they'll still sell the most post update simply because you need to go into a Shadow Lair and complete it in order to craft said items. Regardless of your personal opinions regarding the equipment, they will still be rare - just not incredibly.
How many keys (runs) are required to acquire every new items?
(Assuming a successful run each time?)
375CE for A shadow run? i love it! PLEASE OOO keep this for ever not just for haloween :( (i'm not ready to go into those parts yet! i haven't been into FSC once so i want to do that first and THEN i will go into shadow lairs)
@Business-Lady.
If you have all the equip, CE, crowns & mats (purchased from people who did it before) and you only need to go down to the machine to make it: one. (AFAIK)
1 key = 1 new item, if you are successful in your endeavors.
@Khamsin it would have been much better if OOO did it this way from the start, but I think we can still welcome the change. I personally think it's a reasonable, though still somewhat expensive, price.
A few things i took away from the forums without playing the game yet since the recent update:
Keys are now at a reasonable price to buy
Some people are still rageing. Guys, its better than a 5% chance at 50 lockboxes
5$ = Notworth one run. Even disregarding that fact that soloing is more expensive, those that chose to solo do it at their own cost. Maybe get a few friends and solo BEFORE entering the elevator? Idk if that works though.
I got a Key in one box opening so i have to see this for myself to fully grasp this discussion.
What ill give to the forums:
Its only till the end of Dark Harvest Fest.... Start buying fellow knights!!!
At this rate, Ill have my keys saved up soon. and be broke on CE and CR
I need to start my Shadow lair runs @_@ Where have i been this week....
Meh, havent posted a lot so had to say something quick.
~Xylka
My friend made over 10 pieces of equipment on his only run thru the shadow lair.
@ Sypsy<--you are correct :)
Sob, I had one guy that offered to take people with hiim if they paid him 100 ce right after the update. Why did I contemplate not spending 100 ce to go with him and the option of saving 100 ce since it is making energy costs rise. Argh. Now the ones that had snarby is asking the 375 splitting price, jesus, I wanted to get these "extreme" end prices I guess. It just "evened out" too fast.
if you think about it people used to open lockboxes at 750 each... some people opend almost 20 boxes to try to get key... but now for basicaly the price of two boxes the can get a key.. so basicaly if they used those 20 lockbox keys and got the same amount of ce they get back is enough to buy 10 keys basically...
not sure i explained right....
Price of a CE pack:
750 silver key
1600 too cheap
3500 good
7500 current ah price of the key
so 3500 !
