I know, you all are gonna hate me for saying thiis, but..

I dislike the "shadow key boost for a limited time" update. A lot.

You may now expect everyone to walk around in a snarbolax coat just like it went with the vog. No imagination guys. No imagination.

Good job, Three Rings.

Let others get in on the fun too....

It is a multiplayer game, and yes more people might have them but you need alot of CE to rack it up.... if you want to be out of the crowd get something really rare like almire crusader or something. The update probably wont last until after halloween and i wont even be able to get ONE so...yeah..

People would rather have

People would rather have everyone running around in the same armor and be able to do shadow lairs than not be able to. Which is why everyone has the same everything and everything is common.

I suppose I already do stand out, considering a lot of people find the chaos cloak rather ugly. I always loved it.

Well, the thing is, with the

Well, the thing is, with the Rose stuff, when they launched a new event, they had new Rose colors.

To me 000 suggested a trend that things that rewards that are rare should stay rare. They went back on it. Hard to know if it is worth spending money on CE anymore if the value of what you purchased could diminish at any given moment.

@Khamsin: But no one was

@Khamsin: But no one was continually crying about how the Rose Regalia was a rip off, while at the same time spending $100 on CE to get the item. The idiocy behind this whole situation is that, despite the large number of people complaining about the high cost to obtain the keys (not just the forum dwellers), people were still tearing through lockboxes to get them. Its something straight out of a political cartoon.

I'm a pro-gunner, poncho,

I'm a pro-gunner, poncho, stetson and all, none of the new armors fit me and people in full gunner gear are quite uncommon so I'll still feel unique for a long time to come I think.

Yes you will see a lot more people sporting Snarb gear for a bit, but once the novelty wears out people may cover it up with a costume or switch to another set altogether (the stats on it aren't amazing), things will start to look less conforming again after a while once people realize their all wearing the same thing to the party.

Then again I'm a gunner, been different has never been a problem for me :P

@Happyapathy: Think its time for WWII and Vietnam war outfits? Everyone agree with me that the Helmet with just the eyes showing would be awesome indeed? And an ammo belt Bandolier!

Neat Idea

"Think its time for WWII and Vietnam war outfits? Everyone agree with me that the Helmet with just the eyes showing would be awesome indeed? And an ammo belt Bandolier!"

That would be cool :D

Seeing a lot of people sporting new gear when it becomes available should be expected, I would hold judgement on saying that everyone will be wearing it until after the novelty of it wears off, there may have been a spike in the number of people wearing Tabards when Rose Regalia was available but last time I looked not everyone was running around decked out as musketeers.

If a month from now we still see masses of Snarbolax clad players running around it would likely indicate a problem in stat balance rather then aesthetic appeal, no matter how cool it looks it doesn't matter if everyone else is dressed the same.

I can understand some people

I can understand some people who've already spent silly amounts on lockboxes and keys being a little upset about this update..but only for that reason however.

Whining that you won't be "unique" anymore is really nuts, maybe if it was some skill based achievement and reward - which was then made available for considerably less work, sure..but people buying keys now STILL need to beat the content so. If you want to be unique, get some accessories, expecting a whole slew of content and items to be inaccessible because YOU want to be different? Come on now.

I think we can all agree the way this has been handled is all sorts of messed up, but this is at least a bandaid that will allow more people to see the content - i don't see how you can be unhappy about that, unless strutting around haven in your super duper armour is worth that much to you :p

(also, im guessing secretly a few of people are probably annoyed that they wont be able to make large amounts of CE off the mats once more people have had access - i'd imagine it'd be quite profitable if you went in groups of four and divided up the cost of the keys, and recouped it selling the mats...but i don't really know for sure)

if i buy the snarby armor

if i buy the snarby armor it's for the stats NOT to walk around in the armor costume (i couldn't care less what armor people use as a costume) i have a skolver because i like it's look with the snarby shield and i don't care that there are 1000 people with the same thing.

Worrying that the snarbolax

Worrying that the snarbolax gear will become trendy is a pretty poor reason to deny people easier access to new game and new content.

Jeeze, people, it's just an aesthetic/armor set.

here's a better suggestion.

here's a better suggestion.

if you need to be obviously better than other people, turn off SK and spend that time in the gym. 8% BMI and nice abs will always beat the l33test of l33t MMO gear.

Disappointingly enough, I saw plenty of Snarbos walking around before the 1500ce prices in the Havens. It being a unique look, even if this update were not to have arrived, was really out of the question.

Don't want to get too far into a weight debate but you can be a little on the chunky side and still healthy. It's not really what muscles you pack but what you do with your body.

That being said I wish I could afford a gym membership. I try walking here and there but the roads aren't too safe for pedestrians :/

@wuvvums my point wasn't

@wuvvums

my point wasn't functionality, it was beauty. People who're in good-looking shape usually get some sort of higher respect, even over functional muscle. Also, you sound like you live where I live. God forbid you're on a bicycle.
