I PROTEST THAT MONSTERS SHOULDN'T DO PIERCING/ELEMENTAL/SHADOW DAMAGE IN T1. IT DISTURBS THE BALANCE OF THE CLOCKWORKS. AS IT STATES IN THE HELP SECTION, MONSTERS IN T1 DO PURE NORMAL DAMAGE.

Hmmm...
Just kidding, but seriously, caps lock is not frequently used for a reason.
Well I can understand Elemental being used...
The game should be doing themes based on the ever popular, "Whatever the players don't have."
Can't tell if serious...
caps lock is cruise control for cool.........
@Broxaim: Even with cruise control you still have to steer.
The monsters in T1 do only do normal damage. Pay attention to what color pips pop off of you when you get hit, they're always red.
Although the monsters have the different color charge aura before attacks the damage is always normal. The different colors are just there to prepare you for T2 and let you know what monsters/attacks do what type of damage in there.
Yhea, the only ones that deal non-normal are in danger rooms. To my knowlage. Though the statuses deal elemental, and the spikes deal peircing. If you feel the need to be fully equipped for T1 PVE, get one scale mail peice, then alternate between the three status peices on your other armor slot. Green ward is the preferable sheild, since there is no posin helm or armor, but don't use the scale sheild becuase it's the same without posin ressist.
I protest the gross misuse of the caps lock key in the OP.

I mean protest, protest, protest, protest, protest...
I think Varja is aware that T1 monsters do all-normal and is protesting it. ...Though I'm not entirely sure, since he said "shouldn't," not "don't."
The only monsters that do typed damage in T1 are those found in strata 2 danger rooms, and special guest monsters in strata 2, for example Alpha Wolvers in the boss room of Wolver Dens. However, due to their rarity or being optional, they are perfectly balanced. A Wolver Den would be pretty lame without the Alphas.
