Assuming you have enough crowns to afford a 3 UV ticket, what is the best way to approach buying UV's for your weapons?

1. Spend it all in getting 3 UV's for a single weapon and pray they don't suck
2. Buy a 2 UV ticket, use the leftover crowns to roll again if you don't like UV's or to buy UV's for other weapons
3. Only get a 1 UV ticket, allowing plenty of leftover crowns to keep trying again until you get a very good UV or to add UVs to other weapons

While I think it is better to get a single good UV rather then 2 or 3 bad or so-so UV's the 2 or 3 ticket has the chance of possibly providing a good UV and then some. While it is based a lot on chance, which on do you think would produce the better results?

Option D) buy 2* items with

Option D) buy 2* items with UVs already on them.

After blowing a bundle of money on UVs and getting diddly, I say it isn't worth it. ESPECIALLY for items that can be ragecrafted.

It's a trap!

In the same way those items for sale in AI vendors, or those items with a short or non-existent alchemy path are traps for newbies, UV rolling is a trap for high-end players.

Option Jelly Donut: Ignore

Option Jelly Donut: Ignore UVs, they don't make that big of a difference.

They're not going to turn a crappy weapon into a good one, nor a crappy player into a pro. They're nice to have if you luck into one, or if you have piles of crowns and nothing useful to do with them, but they're nothing to lose sleep over.

Well if you want an ASI VH DA

Well if you want an ASI VH DA you gotta roll for it. But for most stuff that can be ragecrafted, just buy the lower variant. Also, probably cheaper to buy a VH ASI sealed sword than it is to roll for one.

"Option Jelly Donut: Ignore UVs, they don't make that big of a difference."

They do make a big difference on weapons. A CTR VH or an ASI VH makes those items much safer and more effective. On armor, status resistances are helpful. Shield UVs aren't as big of a deal.

To recover your investment

To recover your investment you have to sell the results, which may be hard specially with the crap uvs like lows, if you go this path then it will be very time consuming. If you dont do that and still punch then you may be stupid or very rich. Usually its better to allow them to sell you their results since it will cost about the same in the end and you wont have wasted your time.

Keep in mind those are his

Keep in mind those are his rolls, doesnt mean you will get the same luck. And doesnt mean that if you do get similar luck you will keep that luck going forever, that's how gambling works :P

However yes, if you will roll then do 1UV rolls unless you have a huge pool of resources available.

Between cost and probability,

Between cost and probability, your best option to get 1 desirable UV is to do multiple 1UV tickets. The 2 and 3 tickets each have an equal chance of getting a desirable bonus per UV.... which basically means a low chance of something that isn't a dmg vs monster, but costs over 10 times as much per UV involved.

Since players usually go after 1 particular UV in a pool of 8 for weapons, and maybe 1 out of 10 for armors, your better off with the maximum number of rolls.

Yep 1 UV rolls

1 Uv rolls are by far your best bet. Caution: don't expect results like Engies lol. Roll for single UV's. Be happy if u get a good one. Get all good UV's (for all your equip) before you worry about great ones. Start to sprinkle in maxes when you can. Don't touch double or triple UV's until you can comfortably afford to throw away cr/ce for vanity :)

I bought one Double UV when

I bought one Double UV when they first came out and that's it. A Double UV costs you almost the same as 4 Single UV rolls, with the results often low/low, or low/med. A Triple UV will cost you 11x the cost of a single roll... and as a friend found out when they saved enough to get 3 of them at the old price the normal return is low/low/med.

If you have the money for a triple roll then you might as well go for 11 single rolls and hope you get something worth while, instead of a triple that you won't be able to sell (YAY! Low Undead, Fiend, and Construct on my GF!!!!! I feel so happy!!!!.... ..l.. )
