Her lappy runs it too poorly.

My question is this....How big a headache is getting it to work with Linux going to be?
Should I just save myself hours of anguish and just pick up another XP license?

As Kietsu said, the biggest challenge will likely be teaching her how to use said Linux box. The majority of Linux users have been able to download this game and go straight to playing.
