The Iron slug does have an interesting quality of "small blast radius on direct hits", but it would also lose the chance to stun enemies.
The Iron slug would be a good all-purpose gun, but I already have a Valliance (UV Undead Med) for that.

I'm rather confused on which one to make.

Callahan

Both the Callahan and the iron slug have a small blast radius, and like the rest of the magnus line are excellent at hitting opponents that dodge like wolvers & devilites - the main difference is the iron slug does normal damage and sucks ass, whilst the Callahan does piercing damage - pretty much everything you need a Magnus style weapon to hit is weak or neutral to piercing, and it stuns.

No contest really, there is nothing the iron slug does that another gun can't do better.

I'm not sure what exactly

I'm not sure what exactly small blast radius on direct hits is, but as far as I can say, as a dedicated Callahan user, Callahan has small blast radius on direct hits too.
Anyway all Magnus Handguns shine mostly against dodging enemies: wolvers, devilites and gremlins. Two out of those three are members of monster families that are vulnerable to Piercing Damage and the third one is neutral to Piercing Damage. That's why, in my opinion, Callahan seems like a more sensible choice then Iron Slug.

Is that so?

Both weapons have a small blast radius on direct hits, huh.

Well I didn't see that description anywhere else, (like the wiki? *cough*) so that's good to know now. Callahan it is.

Yea both got a little splash

Yea both got a little splash that is pretty pretty small, but still able to hit 2 rows of the bots in training hall (... hmm not allways happenin'). How ever if there are 2 mobs and between them one a bit farer away, you hit this one, you deal dmg to all 3. Shot between 2 mobs is much easier with this gun due the little splash and so you will be easy able to stunlock 4 gremlins at the same time. Yea they often will wall back per shot, in some strats every 2nd shot. So you can prevent menders from healing etc.

Also the chargeis pretty pretty interesting... Its extremly hard to use wisely. 99,99% of all players dont even know what the charge is. It deals damage, has a pretty big splash for a gun, jsut a bit smaller than a 1* bomb and it will pull mobs to the center of the explosion (!) this allows you to hit all at once with regular shots IF they dont move ;o but if you're fast enough, against devilites for example, pull all together and stunlock them. Im not even sure if they allways get pulled to the center, sometimes they just fly around somewhere D:

But in fact:
Callahan > Iron Slug
Callahan stuns
both have splash and against the infos in wiki, they BOTH WONT STUN YOU!!

@Abathur I think that both

@Abathur I think that both Iron Slug and Callahan won't stun the user on the normal attacks, Callahan stuns the enemies on both charge and normal attacks, Iron Slug do not stun at all to the enemies, Callahan do not stun the users at all, and Iron Slug charge stuns you. This is my assumption, I am not sure if it right or not.
