Since you can buy every accessory pretty cheaply and shadow keys for the price of two silver keys/lockboxes, and since you're 95% certain to get something worth less than the cost of the silver key/lockbox, why would anyone continue to pay 750 ce for keys to unlock these boxes?

2. Boost's shadow key sale is over. Let's look for another sale in the future or the reseller at rocketing price if no-one is opening lockboxes in hope for shadow key anymore.
3. Lockbox may chance a nice rare accessory that can fetch an insane price, the ones that are desired widely like aura and THE wolver tail.
4. If you get something that can sell over 45k cr, you are even with the 750ce price. Of course there are more scheety one than good one but that's how lottery works, no?

You can pick up lockboxes for quite cheap from the AH. If you use mist, whether a primary character or a crafting alt, you can buy a key for ~39k cr (650 ce + 100 mist). It's no more gambling than endlessly crafting caliburs or rolling for UVs. Also, a single desirable accessory can easily pay for itself on the AH (if you're not planning to use it on your own gear) and something rare easily pays for all the boxes you opened to get there. Gotten two ghostly auras thus far, sold both for 250k cr a piece. May not be turning much of a profit overall, but still turning a profit.

I haven't seen a Wolver Tail in the Auction House lately since the last one with Regal color was sold for 1 million crowns.

@Kreuz-Drache You can still buy shadow keys at the AH for less than the ~90k Boost sold them for. I'm sure this price will rise again once the people willing to sell this cheap run out of keys and the people who stocked up on keys for 1500CE start selling for a profit, but for now at least, it's not worth trying lockboxes for a shadow key.

Crazywave. Let me run some numbers by you here. You said you bought ce with cashmonies to sell for crowns so you could buy the halloween masks. That required 2,250,000 crowns total. That's 3 masks, costing 75 tokens each with each token costing 10,000cr. By my calculations, that required about 37,500ce total to accomplish. Who exactly do you claim is wasting CE now?

have 500 lockboxes atm and no keys :)
750CE * 500 = 375k CE > thats more then enough to buy my JK + FSC setups which are epic :)
silver keys are a ripoff @ 750 CE ... should be 100-150 to be honest
if someone gives me 375k CE i will open them all (^_^)
but i want these four if founded in the boxes ... the other 496 i don't care for :)

Oh geez, how much I regret spending all my money on lockboxes, rather than waiting for someone else to get a wolver tail, and then buy it from the in the AH. Which is exactly what happened, one week after I was broke. e_e
Some people honestly like to gamble. I know I do when I buy a couple packs from a TCG, from time to time. Just to see if I can get lucky.
Also, what do you mean by "shadow keys for the price of two silver keys" ? If you're referring to Boost(Or whatever the NPC's name was.) selling them for 1500 energy, that deal should be over now.

I imagine after a while, the shadow keys would probably start rising in price.(Although, I still would rather buy a Shadow Key, then take my chances for the most part. I may like gambling every now and then, but the odds don't seem to favorable for shadow keys. =P)
