Acheron is pretttty good, just ask some acheron users. Shadow damage is pretty rare (and usefull), and acheron is really fast (considering gran faust is its competition)

Acheron for the win.
Hell yeah. Easier to use too, fast=good (sometimes, so don't get up in my face for saying that -_-)
I prefer fast swords, and shadow weapons are by far one of the coolest weapons in the game. Wish there was more weapons with shadow or piercing though. The only sword choices are Acheron and GF and BTB and Flourish lines for shadow/piercing, and all piercing swords have the same attack pattern.

I play a lot of PvP and I can attest that Acheron's are quite annoying, aside from the fact that Acheron is shadow damage, users don't rely on the charge attack.
Meanwhile the remainder of the brandish series are just elemental Levi's, and many of the users are reliant on their charge attacks, since status effect really is the 'X' factor for Lockdown.
Personally, I find Gran Faust much more devastating, only because I usually 2-hit most players and if I don't, I leave a curse.
Uhhh... I'm gunna have to go with, "NO".
Though it may be weaker now with the new Shadow Lair armor out. Shadow armor used to not be very common in PvP which made Shadow Swords very effective. Vog used to be the standard all over the place T3 armor & it is Elemental resistant (all other brandishes are Elemental).
