I think,
I personally think if your a swordy that one piece of Vog and one piece of Fallen armor is best. And Bopp is right, as usual.

As long as you have two
As long as you have two pieces with adequate fire protection, and a shield that protects against fire, you're probably good to go. FSC isn't that hard with proper gearing. Once you get the hang of it, you don't even need fire protection. I farm it in skolver simply to speed things up (although I do bring a COA a lot of the time just to smooth things over).
As for weapons, obviously you want a DA, and then also a polaris. Everything else is just fluff.

If people answer here, you're going to get a lot of this: Vog Cub, Nameless, Volcanic Demo, Grey Owlite Shield, Volcanic Plate Shield, Divine Avenger, Glacius, Shivermist Buster, Blitz Needle, Polaris. Maybe some Barbarous Thorn Blade, Final Flourish, and Leviathan Blade.
For the Vanaduke fight itself, you want normal, elemental, and fire protection. For the earlier levels, you want normal, shadow, and fire protection.
