I'm working my way up to 3* weapons, and weapons that you get for boss tokens (sealed sword, antigua, catalyzer, pulsar, static capacitor) should be some good equipment to start with. However I don't know which is more efficient: farming money to buy them from the AH or going on T2 boss runs.

Farming - I'm a good money farmer and I can make about 30k in two weeks, but trying to get enough money for even one boss token weapon means that I'd have to farm for a month or more on T1, which makes the game really boring after a while.

Boss runs - These earn a lot of money and give you the boss tokens but I suck at T2, which means a lot more potential deaths and failures than actually getting the boss tokens.

eh...

definitely going to boss run, buying from AH only for those lazy richies.
And when you know you suck at T2, then you need to go through T2 multiple of times until you get used to it. T3 + shadow lair would be a lot harder so you need to get prepared either way.

Boss runs. You're just going

Boss runs. You're just going to have to get better. The equipment won't make things easier. Most of the rewards are weapons, so it doesn't help you avoid death.

T2 isn't too bad once you get a handle of things.
First: This is not a "out damage the opponent" game. It's more dodge and slash. This post is pretty handy. It's old but it sums things up pretty well.

Secondly: Are you using a cutter or spur? I've seen many knights wielding the weapon use it poorly by just running head first into a bunch of mobs and slashing away. In T1, you'll be okay, but in T2, it cannot work well. I say read the wiki for the various strategies you can learn to help you survive.

Also, once you get to T2, you should be able to farm far more than 30K in two weeks. If I only ran one knight on mist only, and did JK runs once a day, I should be able to get 30K within 5 days give or take.

I'm going to say the same as

I'm going to say the same as others, do boss runs. You'll get better doing it, just don't rush it, and you'll make tons of money doing so (instead of ruining you buying to from AH).

Just some advice considering the weapon you listed :
- sealed sword is good, but really become awesome at 4* because of non-normal damage. There is a huge difference of damage between 3* and 4* even in T2
- you should forget antigua for the time being, it's not worth it
- catalyzer and pulsar are both good guns, be sure to do non-normal lines. And be careful not to annoy your mates with Pulsar, it could get you kicked (I do kick annoying pulsar users, and I am not the only one).
- static capacitor is an awesome control/damage bomb, go ahead with it
- don't forget Snarby weapons, both the sword and the bomb are good.

bosses, due to sense of accomplishment; but why?

I agree that you should beat the bosses yourself, rather than buy the stuff off the Auction House, because grinding is tedious compared to the sense of accomplishment that you'll get from earning the weapons for yourself.

Fradow is alluding to a larger issue, which is that you might not even want these boss weapons. Boss weapons are not always better than non-boss ones. Sentenza/Argent are just bad in most situations. Gran Faust is nice, but many people (myself included) prefer Acheron. Barbarous Thorn Blade is awesome, but Final Flourish is just as good. Divine Avenger is great, but so are the elemental Brandishes.

So if your goal is actually to get great weapons, you might want to start over: Read the wiki and the forums to determine which mix of 5-star weapons is ideal for you.

If you're worried about dying

If you're worried about dying too much in T2, try joining RJ PUGs, or hook up with a guild that does RJ runs. Royal Jelly is much more newb friendly, especially after the Halloween nerf, than Roarmulus is. Not only do you have the opportunity to earn boss tokens and buy yourself a sealed sword (the other RJ gear isn't really worth spending that much time to obtain, as others have mentioned) but it's also still one of the best crown farms in the game, especially in T2.

RJ is also very compatible with the most popular T2 gear in the game as well: Wolver-line armor/helm, and the snarby-line shield, and given that all the monsters there are resistant to pierce damage you can pretty much take your pick of any elemental or shadow sword and not worry about being ineffective against anything.

Most boss token rewards (that

Most boss token rewards (that are not normally available) are quite good. Barbarous Thorn Shield is one of the 2 most popular shields, pulsar is the most popular gun, etc.

It's much better to buy those weapons by trading tokens. Auction House prices are increased by the unbind price, which is a hefty 200-600 ce lost over doing t2 bosses yourself.
