I don't know how weapons do

I don't know how weapons do against Vanaduke, but no, DBB is not annoying and deadly to your teammates, because there is no knockback on it (meaning it won't move any enemies). It has some knockdown on some monsters tho, which means it would prevent them from doing anything for a moment, so it can even help your mates.

As for Callahan against Vanaduke, it has crappy damage and prevent you from moving while firing. You are better off with either a more mobile weapon (Argent Peacemaker or Polaris) or a more damage heavy weapon (Blitz Needle).

The only problem i see with DBB is that you need to get closer to Vana and avoid it's fireballs at the final phase

Callahan does good enough

Callahan does good enough damage against Vanaduke. The main concern about using one on him is that Stun causes his attacks to occur instantly upon being afflicted with the status, and then (mace smash) another time after the animation completes.

and then you suggest Blitz Needle. >_>

Anyway I tried RSS and could barely hit him after the first phase. I prefer the AoE of DBB.

@Batabii : yeah, because

@Batabii : yeah, because Blitz Needle doesn't have crappy damage. Callahan does.

There are currently no damage

There are currently no damage tables for callahan on the wiki (and I haven't upgraded mine yet), but I'm almost certain it does at LEAST as much damage as Valiance. Besides, with Blitz you're glued in place for like 5 times as long.

@Batabii Wow, all my kills

@Batabii Wow, all my kills against Vanbaduke were using RSS, you just have to time it right at last phase. It is somewhat slow there since each shard does ~153 damage, but a shiver firend will help. A lot.

Between the Slags, Shadow

Between the Slags, Shadow Fire, and the little fireballs shielding vanaduke, plus the charge time for RSS vs a gun, I've never gotten very far with it. DBB just cuts through all the obstacles.

@Batabii yeah, perhaps

@Batabii yeah, perhaps Callahan do as much damage as Valliance, but you lose mobility. And you don't gain much damage, so the trade-off is not worth it.

And yeah, Blitz roots you for a long time. But it also have the highest damage output on Vanaduke, and by a LARGE margin. Totally worth it if you can handle it.

Callahan have some merits and is good in some situations, but it's just sub-par for Vanaduke.

"if you can handle it". I'd

"if you can handle it". I'd rather not risk it against a boss, I die enough as is WITHOUT being stuck in place. the trade-off is plenty worth it, you only stop moving for a split-second, and you can easily shield-cancel. Plus the self-knockback on charge could push you OUT of danger, depending (not that it's really helpful otherwise).

I just don't think it's a good idea to get a weapon just for one boss. I regret ever crafting my Vile Striker.

If you want mobility, a

If you want mobility, a Polaris or even better, an Argent Peacemaker, will give you a lot more. All the while with approximatively the same DPS (if someone have some hard numbers here, it would be more convincing). So why would you choose a Callahan ?

As for the charge attack, let me laugh. The knockback is one square, and will also prevent you from moving for a second. And the fact that you charge before means you should already have seen something coming the danger ...

And getting Blitz Needle is not just for Vanaduke, it also destroy trojans and is good against zombies. Oh, and it can be used against all mobs weak to piercing (there is a video showcasing it against T3 wolvers). And even if you get hit only for Vanaduke, the boss is hard enough to justify getting a weapon just for it.

Again, there is no reason to use Callahan for FSC except if it's your only gun. All others guns i talked about will generaly do better.

@Batabii If I was to solo

@Batabii If I was to solo Vanaduke, I would never use Blitz. However, the problem of Blitz Needle rooting you to one place can be easily resolved by having a Shivermist planter. The ones using Blitz can just go behind him and shoot him with a charge while Vanaduke can barely turn before getting freezed again. And since Callahan can only shoot 2 bullets, you have to time the shot correctly so that the bullet will not get blocked by the fireballs.

Thanks for all the

Thanks for all the answers.

Well I know Blitz is a better gun for Vanaduke, used to ve one on my other character (that i sadly lost). But the reason I asked about Callahan was because I wanted to try something new. But meh, if it really does the same ammount of dmg then valliance, huh then it sure doesnt worth it. If i remember valiance does around 90-100 per bullet at best? I expected the Callahan to deal at least the dubble, considering it has only two bullets, the useless charge and the fact u can't move while shooting. So many downsides for no extra dmg :( So anyone that has Callahan can confirm those numbers just to be sure :p

@Elitechamp so the Callahan

@Elitechamp so the Callahan doesnt shoot through the fireballs? Dang, tought it would. I know that AP and Blitz do shoot through it. I tought that any Piercing gun would do too.

I double-checked with a Callahan last night.

It was only level ~5, but it was hitting about 150 per. Charge inflicted about 240 for anyone who wanted to know. Fireballs aren't so much an issue with it.

But again, the Stun.
