I updated the OP a while ago on how it'd work. Naming on craft and upgrade will be free, and other will have to be bought.

i think the name should be lost when unbinding. as to aboid scams,
and maybe, only maybe, giving the option to name when binding (plus the ones already sugested of course)

btw i love the idea. even if my weaps would have superobious and lame names like blitzy XD.

Hm

I don't think when binding. Names would be more...special? if they were from crafting. Bought names are just for those who want them but can't do it/be bothered doing it when crafting.

Oooh...

I agree 140% One thing though, is it possible to design your weapons, like adding little accessories so that there are no same type of swords? I mean look at the possibilities. A special looking sword with an awesome name that only YOU have? Thoughts?

+1. this would really make a

+1. this would really make a sword more meaningfull to the knight. also basic, easy to do on all weapons. a point to make of how it could affect the knight, it could give us a title. for example say i named my knight Gormys, then named my sword Katalis. i would then be Gormys of Katalis.

also, accessories are agood

also, accessories are agood idea too so weapons look a bit more individgual to each knight.
some ideas are;
-gemstone: in the hilt(sword), along the side(gun), on the front(bomb)
-cloth material: wrapped around the handle(sword), around the nozzle(gun), verticaly around(bomb)

In my opinion, I say yes and no.

Reason to say yes:

This will avoid confusion and players have their own words to say other weapons, like the twisted snarble barb is a stick. I would lowove to name it a stick. For the other weapon lines such as a blitz needle, I would name it Speed Gun since it has good pierce. Or for a type of gun with a effect, I would name it (Effect) gun, etc...

Reason to say no:

Players are probably going to use their own words like "WTS stick 15k" or something like that. Silly players would confuse themselves and switch names like Faust and Avenger. The 5* version would be Gran Avenger and Divine Faust. That would just confuse players. What happens when players accidently name something and then it's permanently bound? This would cause some complaints like "Have a option to change the weapon name for free" or something.

Well, now I have my own opinion

Umm...

@Benightz

I agree completely about the reason of having the ability to name swords a bad thing. I have an idea of how it would be still fine. Have its original name on it, but with parentheses. This way, people would still be able to sell it, but the name stays the same. I don't know what the consequences are yet, but feel free to criticize.

Um.....

What about if you name it when you bind it to yourself? The only way to change that name is to unbind it and then rebind it. The cost for it is right there. If you unbind it, the name goes away.

Otherwise, I like it. Then I can finally name my DVS Azytra. :P

(I invented the word :P)

Oh, and why just weapons? What about armors, helms, and shields?

Weapons are the tools. You're more likely to form an attachment with tools you use than clothes you wear.

You see people naming boats, but you don't see people really naming their shoes, or houses, or the pavement.

As for naming when binding, I don't think I specified that, but that's what I had in mind.

But unbinding it and rebinding it is a bit much methinks.

I think I'd stick with the 50Kcr most personalization-mods have atm.

This would be a great idea!

"Dude, what did you name your weapon?"
"I love you"
"Haha! Nice! That will trick most people!"

And that very exact moment, Klerish's heart was long gone together with the friendship of her and Blast's.

Just a not-so quick idea and stuffs.

I'd think it'd be great if for those legacy type people, you could force the name to stick by paying extra.

EXAMPLE:

Nooby knight A buys a basic nametag for 3-5Kcr, naming their shiny Calibur after some random thingy. Basic tag would fall off and disappear when traded. As in, when viewed in the trading interface, it would appear as a basic Calibur, not named or anything. Should trade be cancelled, name returns. Special name would be visible when inspecting and such, in quotes and white text, such as "Inamedmebob". Then just under that would appear the actual sword name in parenthesis as (Calibur).

5* Knight B buys an improved tag for 35Kcr, naming their shiny Levi "Silversteel" or some such nonsense. Improved tag would stick when traded, but could be removed by bechamel, but sticks when unbound. Weapon still appears as it's normal self when trading to prevent scamming, with the special name in quotes and shiny gold text underneath the weapon's real name. Would also list original owner's name at the end of the flavor text when traded. Otherwise, for inspect and such, personalized name would replace ordinary name.

Absurdly rich Knight C buys a data pad for 1Kce, naming their ASI VH Winmillion "Winfinity" or some such lols. Datapad would stick when traded, removable only by Bechamel. Stays when unbound. Datapad would allow the owner to input their own background/flavor text for the weapon, along with choosing a color for the font of both the name and the flavor text. Same trading rules apply as the improved tag. Datapad would also be editable at any time.

And all tags/datapads would only be able to be applied to a lv 10 weapon. Could also be given as additional rewards for reaching certain ranks, similarly to crests.
