Somewhat relevant. The developers would rather we not post things like what you are requesting publicly. If someone would like to view them on their own that is fine, but I would suggest against posting them here.

its not relevant.

they said please don't show content thats not yet been released.
they've said that these items were on the game, just no reports of being found and that that didn't mean they weren't on the game.
they then put these items on the AH.

thus there would be no reason to worry about posting pics of them here.

another A+ non-helpful post by thread. streak alive.

Please file a bug report. I'll see what I can do. Alternatively, describe your problem here or in the main SpiralSpy thread. Chances are you are running in an already solved problem and someone knows the answer for it.

Rom buddy, you can make

Rom buddy, you can make SpiralSpy work by temporarily uninstalling WinRAR (cos it's messing with it since it auto associate itself with .jar files)

Then you can open it.

Except you can get in trouble for doing so. If you read my entire conversation you would see that OOO doesn't really care if it's released or not: THEY DO NOT WANT SPIRALSPY IMAGES FLYING AROUND!
I'm sorry. Next time you ask for something that could get someone in trouble for posting I will refrain from interjecting.

Or like what Spiral-Spy said,

Or like what Spiral-Spy said, report what exactly is wrong when you try to open the program and someone can easily help you.

THEY DO NOT WANT SPIRALSPY IMAGES FLYING AROUND!

I'd like to step in here and clear some things up:

I only learned about the power of environment models after publishing v1.0. Up until then, I considered SpiralSpy to be nothing but a modelviewer, useful for previewing gear. However, the feedback, I got in the first week after going public led me to build an entire website for the application.
Before I started working on that, I emailed OOO, asking whether or not this was OK with them (especially in regard to the image gallery. I will, naturally, not post the entire email conversation, but the gist was:

  • Threerings is OK with their artwork being used on the condition that proper credit is being given (this is not a carte blanche! If you plan on doing a project of your own, ask for permission!)
  • Threerings is most concerned about "strategic assets" (read: spoilers that give away big surprises).
  • I suggested a white list approach for v1.1, so only models that were deemed "save to use" would show up by default (this would also have been a nice way to prevent SpiralSpy on crashing when trying to load a non-model DAT file). The idea was dropped as being impractical, though. To my understanding, OOO engineers will now do the obvious thing: keep strategic assets out of the download bundle (the details are a bit fuzzy here. I spoke with marketing, not engineering).
  • None of the above gets you off the hook in regard to posting spoilers. It is still your responsibility to doublecheck whether a model is released or not before posting a screenshot of it to the forums (I'm afraid, there is no good method for this beyond checking the wiki). The same goes for the gallery on my website. OOO has an account there for deleting images, they don't agree with (not for checking who uploaded what, though).

Reference: Support Ticket#201110131000303 (in case any game master wants to doublecheck on me giving a proper account here).
