Why can't I transmute this Shadow Driver? (screenshot)

The Special icon isn't being filled.
I have more than enough crowns and CE, the right materials, and a Shadowtech Alchemer Mk II gun over Level 5. It is unequipped, but it's bound to me, if it matters, I don't think it does.
What am I missing here?

Turns out I need to have it unequipped when selecting the Alchemy machine. Don't know why, but... At least I got my Shadow Driver.

Yes, you must unequip it
Yes, you must unequip it first, because it's basically a "material" for the next recipe which gets destroyed.
You'll find that it disappeared from your loadout(s), too.
The only thing I can see it being in this picture is you have it equipped, maybe, but you said you don't. If it is indeed unequipped then I'd advise sending a Support Ticket for a GM.
