I actually posting this for a friend who couldn't post it himself. ( His keyboard is broken :/ ) Anyways my friend has been a victim of stereotyping. (is that a word? I'm not sure but you get the point.) Well he has all 4* gear and pays nothing at all. (as in he's a free player) he's been playing the game for a real long time. (about the time yahoo made an article about this game, which was before the previous energy crisis and before the steam launch) Recently he went into teir 2 to help a friend at the Twin levels. His buddy left before the actual boss fight due to some technical issues but my friend, being good-hearted, decided to stay with the party. Unfortunately his party members kept hitting the switches at the wrong time. Not only that he begin lagging crazy. So in the end They all died and my friend with zero energy. That's when the problem revealed itself.

The party members began to bother my friend to revive them. They said that since he had 4* gear he should have a bunch of CE. They kept on bothering and harassing my friends calling him a cheapskate and lier for saying he's out of CE and doesn't use cash. The players these days are very, well, I don't know the right word, but the players seem to think anybody with a bunch of high level gear pays. No that is not the case. My friend had this stereotype problem again when he joined a random party in teir 3 (I know not the best idea, but my friend liked the challenge of working with strangers) The party members began saying he was a lier when he said he didn't pay. To insult my friend even more they kicked him, saying he was probably a noob. Look I'm not saying any names (and neither is my friend) and my friend didn't care much about the insults (he's a cool guy like that), but what we both hated was the fact that most people think you need cash to reach endgame. We decided that we should post this so yeah here we are.

Sorry for the huge amount of text right here so lets just get to the freakin point.

You don't need cash to be in teir 3 on your own. Those who are in teir 3 with no cash are discriminated due to people thinking they are lying. This isn't right. So post if you agree. Also post if your a free player with access to teir 3 on your own. The comment of a develeper would also be good.
So help spread the word that not everybody is a guy that pays! (or gal) Didn't see a topic like this so I had to do it for my friend instead of bumping an old one.

I'm not 100% F2P but I agree whole-heartedly: even nowadays I'm short on Ce/Cr funds and go to FSC on pure Mist Energy, and sometimes people want me to revive them even when my Energy bar CLEARLY states I'm out of Energy

So yes, this *does* get annoying

I honestly don't think free players in T3 is all that rare. I think you just got unlucky and hit a bunch of morons.

I think this isn't so much a SK problem as a problem with people in general and manners not being passed down from one generation to the next. Your friend really shouldn't even have HAD to explain why he wouldn't revive the others- much less deal with attacks on his character for it. (I mean, if you can, I think you should, if for no other reason than the help)

Even if I asked someone to revive me and I suspected they were simply choosing not to, I'd much rather hear 'I'm sorry I don't have the energy' than 'why? you're not enough help to make it worth it.' you know?

The people who were bothering your friend are actually a sort of sub-human that we on the internet refer to as "noobs".

They are not meant to be taken seriously. Rather, your reaction should either be to ignore, laugh or pity them.

P.S. This thread will help nothing as it's not really an issue at all. It's just stupid people being stupid as per usual.

I tried to reframe to use the word "noob" but there it goes. My friend had a lot of incidents dealing with this so yeah it is a problem. With CE prices so high, new players (or should I say noobs? Jk Jk) tend to think that teir 3 free players don't exist or think that people like that must be all 5* and be a god at Sk. (Believe me I did a investigation this week asking players about this topic. They pretty much said the same thing.) Oh and on the spell check thing. I was too lazy to use it :P

I am in Tier 3, and while I

I am in Tier 3, and while I don't have 5 star everything besides my armor and helm, I got here all on my own completely Free-2-Play. It has been really tough and a long process, but I did eventually make it this far. I am almost always poor unless I am really saving up CE for something I need, but even then I have much less in comparison to paying players.
Although I haven't really been victim to this phenomenon much, it is rather unfortunate your friend got discriminated like that and I feel sorry for his harassment. I guess some people are just impatient jerks, and there really isn't much we can change about that.

Add me to the pile of F2P T3'ers. I've only got 1 5* piece, but I have a pile or 4* gear (which is mostly why I only have one 5* piece...) and of course my 3* and 1* lockdown sets, and spend most of my time with only enough CE/CR on me to craft my next piece.

JK palace: sure, I just need backup for the boss >< Only soloed him once before.

I've seen plenty of people with better gear than me, yet I'm better than they are. Though I don't say it, cuz that'd be sad and showy.

That's just terrible. I'm a F2P and I am going to have clearance for T3 at last in say a week or so. These past months I've been working on grinding the CRs for recipes I want and to pay for the crafting costs. I can't believe people would be such jerks and assume all 4* should be loaded.

I've never noticed this...

As a full 5* player I've actually never had this happen to me (though I'm sure it does happen).
In situations like these, I prefer to just shoot down all their insults politely and concisely and critique their own performances to get them to stop blathering on about my "lies" :P

Im a F2P player, and i've got full 5 star gear - Vog Set, Divine Avenger, Glacius, Grey Owlite Shield etc etc (thanks to farming fsc, JK, reselling recipes etc)

I play T2 and T3 regularly, and ive never been bugged to ce revive or revive others. Nor have i seen any other people ask that to anyone (Unless its a fail party and everyone except the person in question has ce rezzed once)

Maybe your friend is just unlucky?

A few tips for f2p people -
- Arena levels give a lot of heat and cr. Check gate map and wait at depths if needed for arena to rotate in
- Never buy ce using buy button in trade, always make a bid (for example 10 cr higher that prev high bid)
- Resell popular recipes for good profit
- If you can reach t3 stick to farming fsc with a good guild or group of friends
- Try not to ce rez at all unless its a boss level with whole party dead.

Newb = Newbie = Newcomer / New Player. Not an insult.

Noob = Stupid or otherwise unskilled player. Rude, ignorant to the fact that they are awful, and usually takes out their failings on other people. Definitely an insult.

Nub = Usually a term for joking around/teasing. "Man, you're such a nub."

Again, your friend was dealing with noobs. This is not a pressing issue, he was just unfortunate. These kind of people are in every MMORPG, and everywhere outside of videogames too, because some people are stupid jerks. It's just how people are, and you're not going to change it.

Anyway yeah I had problems where people make fun of me too. It's best to just ignore them rather then try to do something about it like in my thread (posted by tazurin) because chances are:

A: if you make fun of them back then it'll just spiral out of control.

B: some people are won't accept a word such sorry.

What I think you and your friend should do is just leave parties with randoms who are being mean and make your own party and lock it.

I've never really been bugged to revive anyone because I have 4* stuff, but once when crafting something for my friend, I remarked to him how he was lucky that I got a ASI UV low on his sword. Somebody thought I was crafting a bunch of stuff to get UV's (or something like that) and somehow reached the conclusion that he/she was entitled to one of the things I had made. His/her main argument was that I had a lot of CE and could afford to hand over my friend's sword to him/her.

If getting it out of your chest made you feel better then this thread served it's purpose. Those who think that you need cash to reach 4* are beyond help and this thread won't change a thing. I doubt most people think you need cash to reach end-game, you just ran into a bunch of {unprintable}. Me and my friends are all F2P with 5* equipments and a couple of Shadow keys between us.

And we know there are many players just like us.

I didn't buy ce with cash until I'd gotten 2-3 sets of 5* gear, with quite a few bombs. My friend also made it to 5* without paying. In my opinion, the game's more fun when you have to explore in inefficient gear. But I feel the game was a bit easier then. When were ran to the core in our 4* gear and had purple eye difficulty all through stratum 6, it still didn't feel very hard.

Somehow I don't see many beggars outside of the generics in Haven. Among other things, it is quite rare to have a total party wipe-out nowadays. But I have been running a lot more dungeons with friends and guildmates.

i got into T3 twice without clearance for it :D

and only have 2/3* items without trinkets and without spending 1 cent, but hoping for a vita gift card to but stuff :DD
