Ok so i was thinking it would be cool if there were abilitys your knight could use. You could only have 1 equiped at a time and it could be activiated by like space bar or "c" or somthing.

Sprint- dont think i need to explain this one

Rage- after taking enough hits and dealing enough of your own activate this to run faster and hit harder

Doge roll- a lazor headed straight for you your shield is brocken...DO A BARREL ROLL! Basically doge roll out of the way if you didnt get that.

Jump- jump over small gaps and short walls in the clockworks

Shield bash- charge forward with your sheild hitting enemys doing little damage but sending them flying far from you

Counter- in the first few seconds of the animation if your hit you will block the attack and strike back for 2 times the damage(sense this is powerfull you would have to time the use of this to use it at the right moment other wise you take the hit)

Lunge- hop forward followed by a slash then jump back

Kick- kick the enemy in front of you stunning it

Lob-if you have a b

So tell me what you think and please give me your ideas for more abilitys and how this would work. And of course te abilitys would have cooldowns so they cant be abused.omb equiped you lob it(either a certain distance or were your curser is at i am not sure which) and it will detinate upon inpact of the ground

Simplicity

I'm with Madadder. The actions of the knights are simple for many reasons. We gain abilities or mechanics by the weapons we pick. Weapons have different degrees of crowd control and status infliction.

As for mobility, it is the basis for most tactical decisions in the game. It should not be trivialized by adding in additional escape mechanics.

Yeah, let it stay simple BUT

Yeah, let it stay simple BUT id like to see some kind of sprint (limited in use). Like you can sprint gaining 2 or 3 normal speed for X seconds and then there is X *2(3 or other amount) cooldown time. The main use of this ability would be to make traveling in long distances (like taking whole way back becouse you just missed one corridor) faster. To make it unable to use in battle or escape from one you could make some kind of en-gagement marker that will activate in proximity of enemies and will make sprint ability to deactivate.

These not only overcomplicate things, but range from "badly overpowered" (the kick (Stun is restricted to a few weapons for a reason), the bomb-punt (the power and AoE of bombs is balanced by their charge time and lack of range)) through "redundant" (Flourish-style swords have combos and charge attacks akin to the lunge suggestion). Dodging's kind of unnecessary and potentially lethal in a game that puts such heavy emphasis on minding your surroundings, which are often so dangerous that a dodge move covering any real ground would be as potentially suicidal as taking the hit in the first place.

The counter idea I can almost get behind; problem is, shielding is more susceptible to lag than almost any other regular action, and requiring split-second timing to get your counter in is going to give players trouble there. It's the best suggestion of the lot, because it would require no additions to the controls and would ostensibly be dependent on player skill, but I think lag problems would render it useless, or at least largely unused.

I like SK for how simple and fun it is. If they DID add those things, I would hope that we could just disable them in the options. I only agree with the sprint, because having to go back half a level because of a corridor you missed can be pretty time consuming.

And about the counter... one word: lag. I believe that it would be nearly impossible to time the counter right if you're playing out of the US. Maybe it would be hard enough to time it in the US too.. I'm in Europe, so I dunno about how American players' lag is.

Yeah, I'm in the UK and

Yeah, I'm in the UK and shield lag is probably my single biggest day-to-day problem, but as an optional feature it's the best of the bunch. It's still not something I'd use, because, well, I'd get killed a lot.

@Effrul

Yea, I know what you mean. I'm in Portugal and I have the same problem, it can get pretty annoying at times.

But like I said, a sprint feature wouldn't be that bad..

Simplicity. I GUESS double tap for sprint or dash would be good. Sorta.
