I'm not sure, but apparently this isn't the case. In your opinion, should all armors be entitled to the same amount of pvp potential, or are armors that have pve potential supposed to stay that way???
Should all armors have the same amount of pvp potential?
Yes, a game like this should strive to be balanced. With the variety of weapons and armors, it's a waste of potential for only a small handful of gear to be "the best" for PvP.
More top-tier gear means more options for people to choose from. If they want to be versatile in Lockdown, they can aim to buy more sets.
The less balanced it is, the less equips people need to buy to "win" at Lockdown.
Some status effects are more common in PVP than others, so gear that resists those effects is going to be better; armor with fire resist is going to be more useful than curse resist in PVP ATM, all other things being equal.
However, the Wolver line armor probably needs a bit of a PVP nerf, since it's just flat out better than the equivalent armors for bombers and gunners.
The downside is just that if you balance all gear to two different things, those being PvE and PvP, you'll inevitably end up with gear that is all very much the same and your choice in the end pretty much meaningless. Kind of like if all car manufacturers suddenly decided every car has to be equally qualified to drive on streets, off the road and has to fit at least 5 passangers.
Apart from that this is a game where you can very much change your gear for the task ahead, opposed to many other MMO's where you're stuck with your character build.
I would not like three rings to sacrifice variety in the gear in PvE for balance in PvP. But that being said, most or all items were probably designed with mainly PvE in mind so maybe they could just add some gear specially designed for PvP which you can get for krogmo coins, or add some PvP bonuses to existing gear that only applies to PvP. Like "lockdown bonus: +1 health" or something like that.

Why do you think that?
We have 3 types of damage. [4 if you include "Normal". Even more if you add in the statuses.]
We also have 3 types of weapons.
Additionally, we have 3 stat modifiers for each weapon, [ASI, Damage+, CTR].
By distributing different weapon buffs and defense-types across all armors, we could have a much wider selection.
They would all be equal in terms of value, but they would all be specified in their own ways to the point of being usable.
No, they should not. You should have separate PvE and PvP gear.
That being said, though, the whole armor system needs to be changed to address this-- the way it currently is is NOT balanced.
If any player actually argues with that, they're almost guaranteed to be wearing full Skolver and sporting a Flourish -.-
Most armors, well some armors, have damage vs monsters only. They have no significant advantage whatsoever when it comes to lockdown. Gunner armors suck, bomber armor(aka bombastic demo) kinda sucks, people with damage bonus vs monsters suck the MOST in lockdown. So technically, when you sport a deadly virulisk in tier 3 lockdown, you are among the weakest, least skilled players there is.
I consider myself as pretty good in lockdown, although i'm not one of the pros. I still kick some dusker butt with my chroma suit on in tier 2 lockdown and even get most damage even as a guardian. So if you ask me, Dusker > Chroma, but skill will compensate.
That's why it's not balanced. So what if a chroma has more damage vs slimes? A wolver has damage bonus vs anyone while using a sword. So if you ask me, it's impossible to balance armors in pvp. Even in pve. Chroma is only for slimes (With an incredibly stupid ability for salamander set), and other pve armors are like that too. So to sum it all up, Wolver line is the BEST in the game. We can't deny it. What really pisses people off is that we all pay the same to craft worthwhile armor, but some are just better. If the cost is the same, then it should be balanced. If SK cannot accept this fact, we have no balance nor equality in the game.
No, there needs to be some incentive for people looking to improve their performance in pvp to spend crowns/ce to do so.
