Hey there knight people,

Long story short: I need some buddies on this highly confusing game.

I had a look at that first sticky thread, and call me lazy if you want, but I seriously don't want to spend hours reading through how this game works and learning all the game terms etc. I learn much faster by actually playing not reading, soo if anyone has nothing better to do - I'd love some showing around, or someone to tail or just someone to talk to in general.

Preferably someone in the Aussie timezone but since I'm on break now, most timezones would work heheh.

Also, if there are any YPP'ers out there - i was Cinquains :)

Cheers
- Lost Knight (mirotic)

I liek buddies

IGN Lunatic-Ai I'm on...chaotically, so chances are we'll bump into each other sooner or later. I learn faster by doing than reading m'self too.

Hm...if you just started, I

Hm...if you just started, I would consider doing some Snarbolax runs. They give a fair amount of crowns for starting players, plus you get some tokens that can get you some nice 2* gear for getting yourself to T2. You can tell if there's a boss gate if you look through the second half of a tier in the gate screen(The screen that asks you if you want to make a group or join a group.) and see a skull on it. Snarbolax Lair should be a green skull.

Arenas are also a good way in making crowns too.

Also, try not to rev yourself too often. Sometimes its better just to give up, save your energy and do it again some other time.(I do admit, there are exceptions...such as a boss being close to dead or you're close to the elevator.) Infact, if you're in a group, if you die, don't spend your energy to rev yourself just yet. A group member can rev you by giving half of their health to you.(Be sure you try to help rev them too. Only when appropriate though...) In groups, only spend energy if everyone is dead.(Make sure if you're the only one doing it, no need for two or more players energy reving themselves.)

And from personal experience, I find ally mecha knights crappy. They end up pushing enemies towards you, and they have a chance of giving you shock when they're near you. So...I wouldn't bother with them. :P

Oooo

Thanks for the tips! I'm glad I read that before logging on again hahah, I've been spending energy on revs everytime so far (I die so much it's not even funny). Had to wiki up half those terms you used, but are ally mecha knights those things that follow you around?

Also, what's the recommended way of getting equips - through recipes, vendors, or buying it off the auction haus?
And recommended 2* items?

If you aren't a serious

If you aren't a serious player (like paying money, playing all the time) I recommend the Recipes/Crafting route unless you're willing to wrestle around in the Auction House.
Ally Mecha Knights are robotic knights that fight for/with you. Some knights don't like them because the robots are robotic dumb and malfunction all the time (they electrocute themselves and anything touching them every now and then).

Yeah, my appologies, I should

Yeah, my appologies, I should explain things better. The ally mech knights are red/pinkish in color, and yeah, they do follow you around. They're pretty weak too, so they're not all that helpful. What Wind said about them pretty much summed up why a lot users don't like them.

As for how/where to get your weps, I would not recommend going to NPC vendors. The weapons they sell can be bought at the auction house for several times cheaper. I always liked crafting both lower and higher level stuff, but many prefer just to buy a 2*-3* piece of gear at the auction house, and start upgrading it from there. Buying might be better if you plan on playing with your mist a lot, but as Wind mentioned, if you plan on playing the game more casually, then purely crafting is fun.

As for recommended 2* items.(Note: I"m going to be thinking in terms of "end game", where your items will be fully upgraded to 5*.):

Wolver series(Coat and Cap) = Gives a nice boost for your swords and offers piercing protection. http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Wolver_Coat

Owlite Sheild = Shield with Elemental Defenses, so it's good in elemental stages, like construct theme levels. http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Owlite_Shield

Bristling Buckler = Shield with Piercing Defenses and gives a boost to your swords as well. And it's technically "free" if you kill snarbolax enough times. http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Bristling_Buckler

Calibur = All around good sword, with a nice charge attack to push away hoards. Unfortunately, it kinda loses it's appeal, once you start getting a more varied line up of damage types(Only does normal damage.), but that's a lot of info. http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Calibur

Brandish = Not as good as calibur at first, but it becomes much better once you branch it out into various weapons.(Just don't upgrade it to cautery sword. Really, just don't. If you REALLY want a weapon that's good against slimes, than upgrade the brandish into a Nightblade.) It can become a shadow base weapon or an elemental base weapon that can give statuses with it's charge attack. http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Brandish

Magic series(Cloak and hood) = Gives elemental protection. http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Magic_Hood

Freezing Vaporizer = A bomb that freezes mobs, so it's a nice crowd control weapon.(Just be careful with it in a group fight.) http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Freezing_Vaporizer

Fiery Vaporizer = Burns mobs. Sure, not as helpful as freezing, but it can still can do damage while you run away from the mobs. http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Fiery_Vaporizer

What I did for my armor set up when I started doing t2(after I stopped using cobalt....>_>), when I really wanted to get some crowns was:

Wolver Coat
Magic Hood

These two pieces give some nice piercing and elemental protection(More of a "jack-of-all-trades" then full protection, but it does make really nice all around armor.)

I admit, I"m not really into guns(Yet...), so I'm kinda biased with my choices here....

Do not craft 2* star items

Do not craft 2* star items yourself. You can usually get it MUCH cheaper per energy unit used on Auction House. Just be sure to buy the cheapest one.

Find out what you want to be early on in the game. This saves a lot of energy later. There's four classes, usually. Swordsman, Gunslinger, Bomber, Hybrid.

But if you're smart and awesome (Like me. :D) Then you'll find this all out by yourself with the occasional school lunch period spent on reading the wiki.

THANKS

Thanks so much for the replies guys :D

Is there a class you would recommend? Or one that's most fun to use?

At this stage, I just hit Tier 2 :p Yet to go past the manor place, and I also have no idea to get in on a Snorbolax run - any takers?

In order this time

I haven't decided on a class for myself yet so I'm not really the kind of knight to ask for recommendations. Each "class" has it's advantages and disadvantages. Personally, I think a "Hybrid" is best if you go solo (like me). If you go as a team/party, it mostly depends on the team members.

To go on a Boss run, just look at the Gate Maps before you take the initial elevator. From there you can scroll down and see if a Boss Lair is down the road.

snarbolax run-look in the

snarbolax run-look in the gate maps for a 2 green tree signals in a row, then a green skull. try to join in t1 or go from depth 1. its farily easy, just try to stick close to the bell in the boss fight (shield raised)and hit it when he comes close.dont bring any elemental stuff, and maybe bring a buddy with ya.
as for class, try to mix sword with gun or bomb, itll work pretty well if u use the sword for main damaging and the bomb/gun for status effects.
maybe some piercing defense too.(for snarbolax run)
srry if its confusing, but i hope u have fun!!
