Maybe they could try to set up servers in Europe/Australia/Asia, because playing with lag can get rather annoying when there are lots of mobs spawning?
fork over the money then they will do it because it seems to be a bit out of their price range at this time
I would if I had enough money to spend on games. SK is the only online game that ever made me want to pay for more, I'd buy CE every month or so if I could. But since giving money to play games is currently out of my monetary capabilities, I can't really do that.
OK, for the last time (ha ha! No it's not), lag can occur at any point on the signal chain, and SK is currently hosted on Amazon's servers, so their server traffic could affect SK's as well. Dedicated servers might fix this, but they are super duper expensive for an operation of this size. Maybe they'll happen one day, who knows?
As for "balancing existing content", well, I agree, if I've got your meaning right - ensuring that everything that's already in the game works properly is more important than adding more stuff for the sake of it. But Tazurin, what do you mean, exactly? What specific beef do you have with the game as it stands?
Personally, I think certain weapons could do with a wee boost - the Cold Iron Carver is virtually functionless when the Leviathan is available at the same price, the Troika line swords are cruelly underpowered, the Stagger bomb series are pitiably ineffective...I could go on, but there are many, many other threads on these subjects. I think the enemy balance is about right, or at least, I've not noticed anything particularly glaring; enemies that might initially seem under- or overpowered started making sense pretty fast, once I'd grasped how the damage system worked.
The thing is, adding new content can address balance issues. Before the introduction of the Flourish sword and Shard bomb classes, pure sword-users/bombers were at a significant disadvantage versus Piercing-vulnerable enemies. As it stands, players with a preference for Heavy swords are still at a disadvantage. I agree that there's a lot of stuff on this board that's totally unnecessary at this juncture - new areas, gameplay fluff like (ugghhh) pets, new PvP modes - but a lot of additional content suggestions are there to address stuff that's actually missing.
"...and SK is currently hosted on Amazon's servers..."
Wow, we're so [screwed] once christmas rolls allong. Hopefully the event for the hollidays will be "25% slower enemies", or somethng along those lines.
Also, the original premise of this thread sucks. I don't ussualy troll, but saying "fix the damm game" isn't a great point of advice.
Stuff like p.E...:
Just examples, there's lots of things like that all over the suggestion forum and also descussions on the details of pretty much everything that might or might not really be imbalanced.
Yea, I know that, but people outside the US still have more lag than Americans. I know players that -always- play with 2 bars, or even 1. Whenever I see SK videos on YouTube I notice that the player usually either has 3 or less bars.
And before someone says that the connection bars mean nothing, they're wrong. I notice a big difference between playing with 3 bars or playing with 2.
I also understand that dedicated servers are expensive but I also bet that a lot more people than we think buy CE with real cash.
What does this mean? Balance existing content... balance in what way?
Crown payout?
Difficulty?
Player traffic?
Token rewards?
