When I start to master the FSC, I want to begin to make some shadow lair sets. What I'm thinking of so far is:

Shadow Gloaming Wild Woods

Helm: Deadshot Chapeau (some shadow defense, and a damage bonus against undead)
Armor: Deadly Virulisk (piercing and poison defense)
Shield: Dread Skelly Shield or Crest of Almire if I'm lazy (I'm assuming I'll probably only need to be really worried about howitzer bullets, so the shadow defense should be nice)

I'm not too worried about weapons; I think a Polaris, BTB, DA, and Shivermist Buster should be fine.

Shadow Royal Jelly Palace

Armor and helm: Skolver, duh.
Shield. Maybe a BTS or an Ironmight Plate Shield (for piercing, and either a damage bonus or a ton of normal)

Well, an AoA or Combuster might be nice. I'm not so sure about a FoV, as I wouldn't have any fire resist to protect me from the charge attack.

Shadow Ironclaw (or Darkfang?) Munitions Factory

Helm: Mercurial Helm (for shock, and the MSI might help a LITTLE. plus it looks awesome)
Armor: Vog Cub Coat (for elemental, fire, and sword ASI)
Shield: Grey Owlite Shield (for elemental, fire and shock)

I'm not really sure about weapons, except I know not to bring any fire or shock weapons. Or alchemers. And maybe a Glacius over a DA because it is faster and might let me shield quicker to be safe from traps and rockets.

Shadow Firestorm Citadel

Helm: Deadshot Chapeau (shadow, curse, and bonus against undead)
Armor: Vog Cub Coat (fire and sword ASI)
Shield: Crest of Almire (fire and shadow)

For weapons, probably a BTB, a Polaris, a Shivermist Buster and a DA.

Sound good?

Shadow GWW sounds good

I can't comment on the rest, but your Shadow GWW setup sounds good: normal, piercing, shadow, and poison armor. Elemental and piercing weapons. Crowd control.

Just a note, because this wasn't clear to me at first: The Unknown Passage, which comes after the boss fight, is totally different; it has nothing to do with poison or beasts. For UP, you want various protections, various weapons, and crowd control again. Fortunately, you can change your equipment between GWW and UP (and in fact at any time during the latter).

@Bopp

Thank you!

For the unknown passage, do the swarm infected monsters deal their usual damage (beasts deal piercing, constructs deal elemental, etc.)? Or do they all deal shadow?

various damage dealt, according to wiki

Although I have some first-hand experience, I can't really give you better information than the wiki. Read the article on Unknown Passage, and look up the void-monsters. It seems that they deal various damage types.

Alright, I read the page.

Alright, I read the page. sounds like for UP I'll just equip my shadow lair set.

It sounds like there is a lot of normal, so maybe the Ironmight Plate shield would also be helpful here.

Some thoughts

For UGWW, are you making Deadly Virulisk just for that boss? If so, might consider Radiant Silvermail instead. Either is great, but if you are making something just for UGWW it might as well be Radiant.

URJP - Yeah, looks great. Can't really go wrong here if you start with Skolver. It is like they purposely made a boss where we'd actually want to use Skolver instead of Vog. AoA is very useful. FoV might be overkill unless you have Fire UVs on your Skolver. I bought a Heater Shield for fun back when 5* was unbound, can't wait to try it. I think the elemental will be nice for the excessive volume of Lumbers. BTS works great through its its piercing defense, and the sword bonus brings you up to max. Ironmight should work too, I don't have one myself so no firsthand experience on that.

UIMF - Again, are you making Mercurial Helm just for UIMF? If so, consider using Grey Feather Cowl instead. I play sword/bombs so my weapons for UIMF consisted of DA, GF, Shivermist, Venom Veiler. The VV reduced the enemy damage (nice when being hit repeatedly due to the congestion and lag) and it put the menders to work for us.

UFSC looks good.

@Culture

Well, my plan was to make a set for each boss lair, so yeah. I chose deadly virulisk over Radiant Silvermail because of the lack of normal RS gives. Is normal very important in UGWW though? And if not, should I just get RS and a Deadshot Chapeau?

And thanks, I completely forgot about grey feather.

Yeah. You're good. RS would

Yeah. You're good. RS would prolly be better, but tbh, the most important part is skill, which includes the skill of who you take with you.

Hmmm. It appears that the only sources of normal damage in UGWW are hurkats, drouls and vilewoods, which all deal half normal.
If I give up the Virulisk I'll give up the normal, but I'll get shadow defense, so it won't really make a difference against drouls and hurkats (and I'll get an extra medium damage bonus :D). But I'll have less defense against vilewood (I don't really think they'll be a problem though). Welp, I guess I'm going through UGWW in a dress and a cowboy hat :P

venom veiler against Ice Queen?

Ash of Agni seems like it would be very good against the Ice Queen. But what about Venom Veiler? Doesn't she heal? What if our party had both?
