Arsenal boxes at each lvl? Before you chose your gear according to the stratum, if it was a mixed bag construct/beast/fiend you had to balance... NOW~ i can swap between vog/skelly and crest/owl/thorn shields per lvl NOT TO MENTION equip various weapons for specialized offense... i have 9 5star swords 7 5star guns and 3 5 star bombs...

I dunno, what used to be a little strategic has become more tactical, if you can change gear per lvl~ wheres the fun in that?

The fun is you can play with more gear

After they made that advance announcement, I began to buy more specialized monster weapons. Now I get to play with them. Yes, the game will be easier than ever, but also more fun using more specialized gear.

prediction

This feature was introduced a couple of weeks ago, at terminals, where it had no effect. Now it's being added to other levels, where it can only increase player freedom and ease.

My prediction: Once we get accustomed to the concept, the game designers will introduce levels designed around this feature. For example, a Stratum 6 level in multiple segments, with totally different monster types, and some kind of pressure/constraint on when/how you change equipment.

By letting us hyper-customize our equipment, Three Rings is also incentivizing us to craft more equipment.

This may be a side effect of

This may be a side effect of creating the elevator passes. Someone with a pass would often be able to return to haven, change gear, and go back to the party. In order to not give only elevator pass players that advantage, they gave it to everyone. Of course, elevator pass players can do that for every room, at the cost of losing all their heat and any health that was stored in their vitapods, and spending the time to load haven/the level again.

Without Bopp's idea this is

Without Bopp's idea this is so pointless to me since you'll find 80% of the time a row of similar levels where you'd use the same equip.

Might be useful for beast

Might be useful for beast stratums that spawn jelly farms. Not much fun packing a pierce sword and bomb and then ending up facing off against a bunch of jelly cubes and lumbers. Granted I've got all the slots unlocked so I just throw in a shadow sword and either my shock or fire bomb, but for those not so blessed being able to swap out will be nice.

I finally got to really play

I finally got to really play a bit with the new loadout change at the start, and I found some levels to be more difficult now.

Candlestick keeps in particular, I discovered that I used to use the light by the elevator as a safe spot to run back to, while clearing the first room. I've also used elevator room on more than a few T3 construct levels when I immediately face a bunch of retrodes and need a "low wall" to hide behind.
