The wolver blade line would be a medium speed (three swing) sword that deals peircing and normal damage.

The blade side of the sword would be spiked, as the star rating goes up the spikes will apear more and more like wolver teath.

The charge attack will be a wide slash infront of the knight, covering slightly more than the 180 degree front arch. The damage wile better than a normal swing is to be fairly unimpresive for a charge attack. The reason for this is that in adition to the swing and damage the charge attack also causes a ghostly wolver to howl, providing an attack up bonus to all nearby freindly knights in the same fashion as an alpha wolver (though to a lesser degree, equivlent to a low damage bonus, maybe up to a medium bonus by 5*). This attack bonus will operate similar to the curse status, in that it will only effect certain weapons namely the ones the knights are holding when the buff was applied, and they will be marked with a symbol so you will know remember they are effected, in this case a red outline. This does mean that the wolver blade can only buff itself for the user, but can buff any weapon for teammates.

A knight can only be under one such buff at a time so a second attack up buff will override the previous. Though it is up to OOO, i would expect that the attack up will follow standard stacking buffs, so that all damage bonuses including the attack up will still top out at 6 (maximum!).

Nah

There is no such thing as a sword that should match the armor set. Except for the cobalt series. Wolver line is good the way it is already. Why do you want to give it an op sword?

On a 4-man party, 3 go to fight, while one keeps it's CTR trinkets to buff party forever.

shouldnt be OP

even if u can spam it a bonus low or medium is useful but not game breaking, if u dont allow damage to increase above max (if they have other bonuses) and limit it to sword dmg. I dont see how this is OP at all, as it is a temporary boost that increases damage by 14-16% for a short period of time... its not even worth spamming at most it will make some monsters die 1 or 2 hits earlier than they normally would.

juances, i dont think a

juances, i dont think a low/meduim damage bonus would make up for one of the party members not fighting. Honestly this is more of a buff for guns and bomb in the party as they are far less likely to already have max damage bonus (at least at t3) and thus less likely to have hit stacking limits.

@Zephyrgon the concept was a sword whose charge was less oreinted on dealing strait damage and more on a party buff, the name came because thats what alpha wolvers already do, so it being a wolver sword is because that fits better into spiral knights lore and aethetic. A sword is a sword, it can go with any armor.

@zincknight pretty much, though i dont think the bonus should be limited to swords, as a party buff it should buff the party, regardless of thier loadout (assuming of course they dont hit normal stacking limits).

Oh and i thought i put it in the orignal post but looks like i didnt, I figure it should have slightly less dps than comprable blades (calabur and brandish lines), about 5-10%. Not enouph to make it a handicap, but enouph to help ensure its more of a team waepon than a solo one.

Oh and @ spyash

Akela means wolf and is often used as the name of pack leaders in lititure (such as in the jungle book, or even the cub scout). Its following a patern among many 5* swords of having actual names (such as faust which comes from a german legend, leviathan which is the name of a biblical monster, and acheron when is a branch of the styx). while names of course are fluid, that was my reasoning

after a bit of thinking

maybe this would work better as a bomb? and explosion buffs party members... it makes more sense than a sword atleast... maybe XD

I, for one, find the idea to be relatively interestin', especially considerin' there's pretty much no way for the Knights to get buffed.

I dunno HOW it'd work, but I'd be okay with whatever they do with the idea.

Will probably need a lot of tweaking to make it useful but not overpowered. But it is a fresh new idea that sounds quite interesting.
