Ok, so I try opening up Spiral Spy 1.1, and it says "Please put the Jar into the Spiral knights directory" - does anybody know what this means/how to resolve it? D:

Well, you need to put it in

Well, you need to put it in the SK folder.

I didn't HAVE this folder at first, considering I downloaded the game during beta, which didn't add a folder to my computer l:

So I simply downloaded it again, and the folder was there.

So yeah, put the spiral spy file in the SK folder.

Ok so here is a step by step guide.

1. Go to windows home and type in run.

2. Then click run and type in %appdata% with the %

3. Press backspace when it shows the list of folders

4. Then press local allow

5. then drag spiral spy into the spiral folder then press the spiral folder scroll a bit and click spiral spy

Hope this helps!

Pretty much what Nummy said.

Pretty much what Nummy said. If you use Steam it'll be in...

Computer-->(:C)-->Program Files (x86)-->Steam-->Steamapps-->Common

The SK folder should be there.

Getting madder by the second.

If I cap, please excuse me. I try to open this .jar and IN THE FLIPPIN' SK DIRECTORY AND IT STILL WON'T LOAD! It says (in my own way of putting it), "Please put me in the Spiral Knights directory". I'm sitting here thinking, "You are idiot". I'm a Steam user. Trying the only two versions which I can get, which are 1.3 and 1.4. I have a Win 8 laptop. I mean come on, what's the problem here? (Sorry if I come out rude, it's just that I had it with this .jar).

Great googly moogly. BRAVO! A CLEAR 9.0! What a necrobump!

This is where I put mine. I am a Steam user.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Spiral Knights

Basically you have to put it inside of a folder that has the title of "Spiral Knights" and it automatically searches for files in that directory. I have no clue if it's compatible with Windows 8.

That's where I have it.

That's exactly where I put it, I wonder if I can change a few things on my laptop to make it work? Nope that failed.

Spiral Spy requires the file "projectx-pcode.jar" to be in the "code" sub-directory in order to not give the directory error.
Spiral Spy requires some files in the "native" sub-directory, as well as the files "lwjgl.jar" and "projectx-config.jar" in the "code" subdirectory in order to run,
Spiral Spy requires files in the "rsrc" sub-directory in order to find any models.
The "rsrc", "native", and "code" subdirectories must be in the same folder as the Spiral Spy launcher.
Do try running Spiral Spy as an administrator, Windows 7 and 8 have a habit of restricting a program's access to other files in install directories such as Program Files.

Also..

Please note that later versions of java may affect the problem as well. (you might have to revert it if possible)
Make sure Spiralspy is only opened in the spiral knights folder.

I don't want to change my version of Java

Solotron, Is it possible that I can install a older version of Java somewhere else and then try it? Hexzyle, I got it where it has Administrator, I also have it under the Win 7 capability. I've checked the folder and it has those files that you have told about.

Um...

Yes, i do believe you can have multiple Java versions running on the same computer. Have to make sure the older version is running the program though.

Good

My current version of Java runs SK better. (I used to have the problem where the music would go in and out, but this was before I updated it).
